VR6 oil pressure

Anyone know what the oil pressure on a vr should be at cold and at 90 degrees?

Just found this out. 4 bar when cold, 2 bar at normal running temp.

That's the figures for 2000 rpm iirc. There are four data points to match up if you're testing "by the book", including another two for hot/cold operation at 4000 rpm.

How and where do you measure the oil pressure? What kind of gauge do you need and where can you get hold of one?

You measure it from the oil pressure switch at the front of the engine above the oil filter. Any pressure guage that reads up to 6 bar will do. Most tuning places should have them or demon tweeks etc.

Is there any other place where a physicl pressure test can be done? Iwant to see if there's sufficient pressure in mine by the cams, if thats possible (related to the tapping noise)

Get a screwdriver and place it different ares of the engine (with it running) and try and trace where its coming from. Try the head of the tensioner bolt too.
