tonedef 9 Posted January 3, 2008 Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the springs for Koni coilovers anywhere? Just took mine for MOT this morning and I've got a broken one, explains the creaking noise anyway!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 3, 2008 Yeah ring Koni themselves (in the UK obviously) and they can supply you with one. Best to replace in pairs though because if the original failed from fatigue, the other one might follow suit.

Who, (according to the woman I just spoke to there) cannot actually supply directly to me, I have to go to an agent. Oh, and it'll take a minumum of two weeks to get a pair from Holland if they have any in stock, an age longer if they have no stock. None of which works if as I fly back to Saudi next week for three months. Guess it's time to buy a new car and park the Corrado up again!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 3, 2008 That's very helpful of them. I got a damper direct from them about 4 years ago, so they must have changed their policy.

I have to admit to being not 100% impressed by their customer service, but then that seems to be about as good as we get in this country these days :(

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 4, 2008 That's a good suggestion. You don't need Koni branded springs (Koni don't make springs anyway) because all coilovers are either 2.25" or 2.5" diameter springs. As Karl says, most places sell springs and they start from about £30!! You need to know the spring rate of your existing ones though. Surely Koni can help you with that? Or maybe not because as you rightly state, service in the UK is feckin terrible by and large. Actually, aren't the springs covered under Koni's lifetime warranty? tonedef 9 Posted January 4, 2008 Actually, aren't the springs covered under Koni's lifetime warranty? I was wondering that myself, of course trying to find any paperwork for mine is a bit tricky, they were the first mod I did when I bought the car in September 2000! Maybe I should be firing a full new set of coilovers on, these must be getting tired anyway. As for the price of the springs, a pair for the Konis is £115 inc VAt and shipping compared with around £750 for a complete new set. Need to decide if I want to go for Koni again though if I change. tonedef 9 Posted January 13, 2008 Update in case anyone else needs Koni parts: I found a company on the net called POTN who quoted me £115 for a pair of springs and delivery but said to expect two weeks delivery time, I said I'd shop around and come back to them as I really needed some ASAP. Anyway a couple of days later I called them back to say go ahead with the order and after keeping me on hold for around ten minutes they came back saying that they'd spoken to Koni and it was not possible to get just springs, I had to buy a complete new set. Strange as I'd already had a quote from them after they'd previously phoned Koni? I questionned this but was given a direct no, not possible and would you like to order a full set? Like hell I would! I then called Larkspeed, who took my number, spoke to Koni and phoned back with a quote similar to the first one I had and a promise of delivery in ten days to two weeks, couldn't be more helpful. I guess POTN just wanted to get an order for best part of £800, instead they got nothing.
