Cnut's new Corrado

Having wrote off my Corrado on 15/8/08 I decided to buy myself a new one last weekend!

 

It is a 96 registered Mystic Blue Storm, it's a completely standard unmolested example. It still has the original toolkit, warning triangle, first aid kit and even the crappy Sony CD player (which will be getting changed!)

 

The bodywork work is in amazing condition considering the mileage with no parking dings or scrapes to be seen. It has a few stonechips but that is considered of a car this age. It really is testament to the previous owner who had it garaged and valeted every week :)

 

The previous owner has also had loads of work done to it recently including a complete suspension overhaul using only genuine VW parts, new timing chains, guides and tensioners. It really has not had any expense spared on it! It rides so much better than my old one which probably due to the new bushes and it handles like a Corrado should :D

 

I couldn't resist putting my BMC CDA filter on it but I have kept the original when I want some peace! I really don't want to mod this one and I am tempted to just keep it standard but I know what I am like... give it a few months!

 

I'm interested to know whether any of the previous owners might be on this forum?

Does look a little high doesn't it! Good condition though and it is nice to see an unmodified example for a change! What are your plans for it?

 

EDIT: Are those the bosch replacement lenses on the fogs? if so then one of the previous owners must be on here at a guess...

I know it desperately needs it! Just seems like a bit of shame to do that since it's had brand new shocks and springs recently fitted :scratch:

Plans so far would be to get the clutch replaced which for some odd reason didn't get done when the chains were replaced :scratch: And then change the tappets and cams from my other Corrado which were only done a few hundred miles ago and I also got the SP 263 cams done at the same time so they will be going in. Next weekend (providing the weather holds out) i'm gonna install all my ICE :D

 

I'm thinking about tinting the rear lamps red like i did with my old Corrado because that looks so much better.... but I dunno yet!

 

I think they are bosch replacement fogs, they don't look quite right because they are slightly tinted! I know he only had them put on recently because the ones that were on there before were completely wrong!

I was travelling in the opposite direction on my bike....dunno if you noticed.
