Adz The Rat 0 Posted February 18, 2009 The Corrado is more expensive so it has to be faster haha
mic_VR 3 Posted February 18, 2009 Chassis is better and the Corrado isn't shaped like a brick

Jim Bowen 1 Posted February 18, 2009 not been in golf vr6 or driven one, or raced one. Is there much difference in the torque curves?
nemesis360 0 Posted February 18, 2009 the corrado has a lower final drive so will accelerate faster than the golf :D
Leonard 0 Posted February 18, 2009 The later Golf VR6's have the later management and put out similar power to the Corrado ie circa 188bhp
loopylindsay 0 Posted February 18, 2009 depends what has been done to engines really. my guys mk2vr6 got 206bhp but has had lots done to the engine! apparently the cams make a big difference to the torque too. we thought the mk 2 had 268's but stealth reckoned it had 264's cause it makes lots of torque really early. although apparently you would get a higher bhp out of 268's at bout 220bhp when it made 206bhp. we asked about r32 engines and technically that should be faster in the c! due to the golf not being able to put the power down and just spinning up where as due to the c being heavy it can handle the engine better. technicaaly it could be lots of reasons.
MonkeyVR6 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Mk3 Golf :nono:
mic_VR 3 Posted February 18, 2009 the corrado has a lower final drive so will accelerate faster than the golf :D Did not know that Graham, everyday is a school day!
loopylindsay 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Mk3 Golf :nono: ah i see we are talking standard engines in the cars they are meant to be in! the mk 3 golf drives like a jelly mould though on standard suspension. and is horrible hard on non standard!
Adz The Rat 0 Posted February 18, 2009 My bro has just bought a R reg VR6 Highline Golf with same suspension setup as my Corrado so I reckon me and him need to get lined up at Santa Pod!!
loopylindsay 0 Posted February 20, 2009 defo that would be an interesting race!
mrbeige 0 Posted February 20, 2009 Mk3 Golf :nono: They aren't that bad... ;)
MonkeyVR6 0 Posted February 21, 2009 Maybe its just the ones round Haverhill or Cambridge city centre that are just a bit too [tim westwood] "UK STYLE!"[/tim westwood] for my liking. The only ones I've liked have been the subtle ones from PhatDubs I've seen at a few shows - but then they were supercharged
shaung60 0 Posted February 22, 2009 The Corrado has a bigger engine. Remember there is no substitute for cubic inches.
dukest 0 Posted February 22, 2009 yes, but thats why he pointed out the almost identical power to weight ratios!
dr_mat 0 Posted February 22, 2009 The answer is simple. Corrado drivers have larger testicles.
Walesy 0 Posted February 22, 2009 And less money in their wallets to weigh them down.
Leonard 0 Posted February 22, 2009 yes, but thats why he pointed out the almost identical power to weight ratios! Don't forget the Mk3 Golf VR6 drivers inferiority complex weighs very heavily.....
