Well this is now my 5th Corrado and 2nd VR6, bought it off the forum after alot of thinking and decided to go for it. Reason being i wanted another black one and with black leather so this really had my attention, so after speaking to Omar (VR6C) as he used to own it i shot down in the missus' 205 automatic to Si's place and put a deposit down later that night.

Nearly brand new falkens all round

H&R Coilovers

Neuspeed rear anti roll bar

Magnex/Miltek combo with de-cat

Lupo wipers front and rear

R32 wishbone bushes

Re-paint with smooth sills and welded up side repeaters

Lots and lots of reciepts including rear axle bushes

Air intake behind front bumper

Sunroof works (it did when i bought it but have a habit of not using it after incase it breaks!)

ABS all working as it should

MFA fully functional

 

Got the car home and the first thing that decided to 'go' was the central locking, luckily just a pipe had come off the pump so quick easy fix. Second the drivers door handle broke in the same day, quick PM to Daves16v and that was sorted a week after.

 

All the interior was removed and cleaned/hoovered plus i found 5 quid, result! Bought new VAG rear door card clips as a few were broken and put them on so they fit as they should now, all red rears removed and some standard lights fitted. Alpine headunit with Ipod fitted. Fitted new seat runners (plastic bits) as some were missing so that was another annoying job done

 

Things to do are

 

New leads (bought from Mort1414 on here)

288mm Calipers (Bought from Omar)

Inlet manifold (bought from Purple-Tom)

New discs and pads (just ordered today 26/2/10)

DG braided hoses

Slam/front panel removed and tidied up

New OEM grill (clips are broke on mine)

Drivers fog light (its cracked)

 

In 2 minds with it though, got a set of Speedies lying around so not to sure if i want to make the car very tidy and OEM (with the H&R's though) or keep it/make it slightly more modded. One thing is i really want to make this a very very tidy car over time,

car looks great mate i should have had a better look round it when you came round i was a little ruff at the time though. hearing yours go dwn the road made me want mine back on the road even more.

about the cropping. the pc we have downstairs crops all my images but my pc upstairs is fine. think its the screen res the forum/monitor is set up to?

 

downstairs runs at 1024x768 and upstairs is 1280x720 cause its a widescreen monitor. see if a different screen res fixes it?

Cheers Phil, i had a look on here this morning and my images were fine, not cropped, just looked now and they are back being the same!

Well just rang the dealers and ordered some 288mm discs for the fronts, and some new top mounts and bearings, just the start of a long list of things to do!

 

Also just got a spare headlight for 20 sheets from the breakers, mine has picked up a stone chip and is starting to fog, happy days!

Really need some more pics but just haven't got the time, maybe this week if it stays good. Still collecting and buying alsorts of things for her to try and make it that little bit better, so far bought from very helpful forum members so thanks peeps who's helped,

 

New grill (tabs are broke on mine)

Foglight (driver side is cracked)

Headlight glass replaced

Black VW front roundell (nicked from my mk2 grill!)

288mm bits bought just need braided hoses (will be off to purpleTom for fitting)

Leads, still need swapping

Plastic engine cover, still needs swapping (got the bits)

Top mounts and bearings all done

 

Had the car on the ramps at a mates garage and the inner CV boot has gone, these little problems are a right pain but once done theres no thinking about it for a while.

 

Also raised the coilovers slightly then had it 4 wheel alighned and camber adj, think i'm going for the standard look very soon with the wheels and sell these crap RXII's, maybe i've grown out of crawling over speedhumps!!

Well think the motor has died a horrible death so on the hunt for a new engine and loom! But wont be going in this car, found another VR with no engine that might be on the cards, saves spending money on this, will be swapping most/nearly all parts over to the new car if a deal is sorted, cant wait!

Yeah been thinking about what to do with engines etc, just need a car really at the moment so hopefully something will sort itself out. Have to look into the 24v!

Well did the old compression test today and well....the thing is properly knackered, 3 are fine, 1 is a bit low and the other 2 are hardly doing anything at all! Cant remember whick cylinder did what though,

 

Well should get my other Corrado soon when i can get over to pick it up then the search will be on for just another 2.9 block/full engine if anybody knows anyone with a decent history'd one for sale? Also just purchased some RH ZW1's for when things are sorted then hopefully be back on the road for more than a few months this time!

Nothing much has happened really but thought i'd post up the new car and rims, might be one the road one day! Dont know what im doing with either car at the moment, most likely buy a working VR engine and put it in the black car for now as thats still T&T'd so ready to roll and i need a car badly, then when the times right put the engine in the silver motor and get that up to scatch.

 

You might wonder why i'm going to this trouble but the black car is on a CatD and i refuse to put money into it because if i crash it insurance will pay F all out hence a semi re-shell.
