Electric Windows keep popping off the runners!

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have an intermittent fault with my electric windows, in that they pop off the runners every so often. It happens when the window is lowered and someone slams the door shut. It used to be just the driver's side, but has now started on the passenger side too.

It's more of an annoyance than a show stopper as it happens every few months, just is a faff to take door card off and refix.

Can you advise on the root cause please so I can fix one more time and forget?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Thanks for the quick reply, they're also a bit rattly - I've now posted a request in the wanted section as I think the last group buy is all gone!

I fixed mine by slightly bending the bars that go into the rollers to ensure They are pressing against them instead of trying to spring out. Not had any issues or rattles since :)

Thanks for the advice, oddly enough this time I reattached the regulator to the roller - the roller had stayed on the runner.
