CazzaVR 0 Posted March 12, 2012 They are identical, apart from the metal brackets. You'll either have to find some late brackets, or fabricate/alter yours in some way. ---------- Post added at 8:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:07 PM ---------- I used a late dash in an early car before and the only one I had to mess with was the bottom bracket which sits directly under the centre console. Think I ended up using the original, but wedging something in to make it sit up a little. Sorry it's a little vague- it was a while ago!
lion 0 Posted March 12, 2012 how do you remove the lower bracket? i couldnt see any screws and dont want to hack it out thanks
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 12, 2012 The one I mean is small and almost triangular. It bolts to the floor of the car and to the back of the cubby hole IIRC. I re-used the early insert though, so not much help there I'm afraid. Could you carefully drill the rivets? Or cut/bend the current brackets with a dremel so it will fit? lion 0 Posted March 12, 2012 i see, i think i have to use the late support behind the cubby hole and some how fit that to the early dash, if not do u think the center console will be enough to keep it all wedged in?
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 12, 2012 Possibly. Give it a go- bit of trial and error and you'll get there!
