Tempest 0 Posted February 4, 2015 Time to release details of the CCGB National Day 2015 B) We're off to the Royal International Air Tattoo, short RIAT on Sunday, 19th of July 2015, where we'll be part of a new feature called the Autodrome where all sorts of car clubs are displaying their members' cars. When: Sunday, 19/7/2015 Time: Corrados need to be in by 9:00 (open to public by 10:00), stay till 17:00 Where: RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire Map: https://goo.gl/maps/mWFbs Website: http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/visiting/visitorinformation Entry Cost: 1-Day exhibition pass: Show car/driver pass: £36.00 Passenger pass: £36.00 This is a discounted price! Check the website for normal entry prices. Some more info, as quoted from the application form: The Royal International Air Tattoo takes place from 17-19 July 2015 and visitors will experience a thrilling aviation extravaganza featuring aircraft, pilots and aircrew from around the world as well as a host of other exciting activities, exhibits and displays. In 2014 the Air Tattoo sold out in record time and was a fantastic event with 224 aircraft from 26 countries, an 8 hour flying display, two miles of static aircraft and fun activities for all the family. New for 2015 and to recognise the strong connection between fast cars and fast jets, the Air Tattoo is offering a warm welcome to Car Club Members in the ‘Autodrome’. The Autodrome’s great location at the heart of the showground offers a perfect backdrop for Club Members to display their ‘pride and joy’ to an appreciative audience whilst still being in close proximity to the pits and guest enclosures. Due to the complexities of booking it is best if each of you wishing to attend completes the booking form and pays for the required number of passes using the attached form, to be returned to the address indicated on the form by 17 June 2015. There is no possibility for camping on-site, because it is a live airfield, and indeed there is live flying, which is the whole point of the show  . I will look into camping possibilities nearer to the time and post up here. Tempest

chazrad 0 Posted February 4, 2015 Great work Eric. That'll be ace! Can't wait. Never been to RIAT but often spoken of going so this is perfect. Well done. Don't think the Corrado will be back on the road by then, can I bring the S4 ? S4, Miles? Tell me more... Good choice.
Jim 2 Posted February 5, 2015 Don't think the Corrado will be back on the road by then, can I bring the S4 ? As far as I'm concerned, CCGB members are welcome to events even if they don't have their Corrado's on the road :) Not sure I'll have mine on the road either by then so you won't be alone in a non-Corrado! Great to see some early enthusiasm folks for this. Eric put a substantial amount of time and effort into organising this, and did agonise over the pricing situation as we appreciate it's not cheap - but I have to say, having been to RIAT a few times, it's more than worth the cost as you see some awesome planes :) I went last year and it did get CRAZY busy as it's a huge show. We got there mega early (I think for about 8am) which was excellent as we just drove in and got parked with very little trouble BUT the show didn't open for quite a while so we had to stand around in a very substantial queue. This however won't be a problem for us as it looks as though they're letting us into the actual show so we get a spot inside the event - so hopefully everyone will be up for the early start! Chuggs1 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Never been to any events before - what happens - how does it work? Does everyone park up in the same area or do we just park up in the car park and get together at a stand? This is only about 10 miles from me - so may well be interested! Traffic is a mare but could be worth it!
Jim 2 Posted February 5, 2015 The idea is we always park all the Corrado's together :) Then folks tend to saunter around the stand checking out each other cars, having a chat, etc then you can wonder off and go enjoy the event for the day.
Chuggs1 10 Posted February 5, 2015 Thanks Jim Will check with the missus - as its her birthday the day before so need to confirm plans - but may well be up for this. Not sure if she will appreciate his as her bday present or not LOL! Will confirm

coullstar 0 Posted February 5, 2015 Turbo would get 30mpg on a long run so not much difference. Might just keep going and see my brother in Poole first then head up there. Would probably get somewhere on the Sunday night but I reckon it would be further up the road to save the drive on the Monday. Need to think about it.
