Nmdsec 10 Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) Heard this is where you confess to having rather an unhealthy obsession with a certain Vw :bonk:.Thought it would be a good idea to start this and keep a track on my progress. So bought this beauty on here from jpowell79(nice bloke)in April 2015. She's been off the road since Jan 2014 and in need of some tlc but came with a pile of paperwork. Trailered back from Rainham to Bristol(don't fancy doing that again Safely in her temporary home Had no garage at the time,so planned to start collecting parts ready for the fun to begin. Last summer finally finished building the garage, and was about to move her into a new home, when one evening I went on EBay...... gotvach 10 Posted May 15, 2017 Looks like a decent purchase. Good luck with getting your project back on the road. Are you planning to keep it OEM?
Nmdsec 10 Posted May 17, 2017 (edited) Welcome Thanks for the welcome ,yes I will be keeping it OEM,bit boring compared to some of the amazing things people are doing with their cars but I'm very much a beginner with a set of spanners and I am hoping to learn a lot from putting this car back on the road. So as I was saying one evening whilst looking on EBay,I came across this:nono::nono::nono:: And persuaded(blackmailed) a good friend to go halves with me Had to put some solitudes on it:fondle: She's in about the same condition as the first storm, and been off the road since march 2015,but sadly didn't come with any paperwork Edited August 8, 2017 by Nmdsec

Nmdsec 10 Posted May 30, 2017 Welcome , those 2 should keep you busy ! Those rear lights are the worst I have ever seen :pukeright: :) That's a shame, was hoping to sell these on,sounds like I won't be able to give them away:shrug:
Nmdsec 10 Posted May 30, 2017 (edited) So now I had a place to work on the storm, work started with replacing those great lights, acquired a new sunroof from monkey on here(thanks). Also got rid of momo steering wheel and gear knob, changed a few brake sensors, new resistor in fan,abs relay was sticking causing battery to go flat.New discs and pads all round, car was coming together nicely ready for the mot. As some of you are aware, certain parts for these cars are becoming increasingly hard to get hold of,or people are asking crazy money,so thought it would be a good idea to find a car to break. Back on eBay I went and you've guessed it :nono::nono: She's a non runner but came with a load of paperwork, someone had obviously put a lot into this car in the past:thumbleft: Edited August 8, 2017 by Nmdsec

Nmdsec 10 Posted September 20, 2017 Thought about time for an update, had a good friend(an auto electrician )look at the VR6 and had it running in 20 mins :thumbleft:,yes it was the immobiliser. So with the car running work started on getting it ready for the mot. Bought some cheap speedlines crying out for a refurb, thought I'd have a go myself With some new tyres, don't think I'm going to give up the day job,but more than happy with my effort.Used this from Amazon, turned out to be more grey than silver, but quite like it now
