Tidy and quick work. The saab would have been nice but the Corrado is still special plus you know your way around Corrados and makes life easier on all the jobs you're doing.

Yes that is true snd knowing the trouble hotspots , spare parts at hand and contacts means it can be put on the road sharpish.

Bit of an update - change all temp sensors and oil sensors to genuine vag - rad elbow - took any rust out the bay and painted myself  including battery tray -  slam panel -just waiting for stainless steel screws for headlights and I’m happy with the bay - Will be also fitting a new rad vag sensor and Hella premium line fan 150 - 250.

Sorted out the exterior decals .

Got a straight door fitted in saturn as old one had rust on seams.

Next step is getting the car on stands and getting any rust out then will be passed onto my paint shop to paint both sides . Parts below that I have sanded and now passed on to the powder Coater they came off my breaker 9a. - you can still get a rear bumper iron fir £40 pounds so purchased one  new alongside the heatshield and rivets.  .

I have sanded - krust rust inhibitor treatment -  zink 182 primer but have not decided what paint for power steering hose- notice how the 4 cylinder pipe kinks on one end whereas the vr is U shaped - last time I got one of these powder coated it write off my power steering system as sand got into the pipe and hardened then loosened up in hot power steering fluid- never again.

After paint work will be sent to Jabba for G60 service and timing belt service and to fit bushes and steering components. and that handbrake which is fat to high and does not work - left in gear .

My only regret is I would of liked a bid on that Carlson Saab if I hadn’t purchased the g60 - it might well be a 30 k car now these days though which my budget would of been just over 10k . .

I will pm you when I get home with the link mate /. It’s a funny one as it is shown on etka as complete bumper and not  individual number for iron but I have purchased one before and another last week - it’s what I call a hidden part .

Thanks Tone but this car is having no where as much spent on the last  one .

Wheels back .

£220 refurbished with wet paint  factory silver (not powder coat )

x2 new Toyo tyres £80 as rears where newish Toyo all ready so matched .

BBS decals 70 mm £35 a set .of 4- went for gold but silver and red available- think they are fake but exceptional copies and quality spot on  .  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154155562877

First parts received off LLL which useless Heritage and dealers said they could not get - genuine rad fan sensor and also ready available  vag clamps which where about £1 each and there are about 12 in a G60 bay so for £12 a nice bit of shine for the bay .  The rad sensor is the 3 connector unlike the mk2 which is 2 and G60 has an A on the end of part number Parts arrived from LLL within a week with postage at £4.95 even though I know for a fact they have got these parts from Germany classics Im guessing - this is my go to now if the part number shows in the search on website. Saves dealing woth 6 weeks wait with Heritage and also part VW staff who don't know  how to source the parts/ slow on etka and charge 25 units in a bolt bag when you only need one.  Great delivered to my door and dont have to speak to VW staff win win !

Check out your front seatbelts and see if they are upto scratch. Something I didn’t do until I was putting mine back together and noticed they were alright but not really good enough. I was going to try and get some old ones and have them rejuvenated but then I noticed classics still had some in stock which I  got delivered this week. No faded splitting plastic or fraud belts in them.
She’s looking sharper by the day mate 👍

They are good in this car the long term owner must of been an office worker midget as the interior is spotless .

Got the parts back today £180 all in - great company that are well known for motorbike frames coating in Brum .  As expected the front iron will need a small piece put on but glad the powder coater sent me a photo as I could see how well they blast them .

Also fitted the Audi hinge seals which carry the same part number as the Rado - heritage sell some garbage copy ones when really they should stock these for the Rado and Mk2

Finally ran out of the 3m product - time to renew .

I would like to introduce my G60 Saturn Silver with a jabba chip and small pulley running 195 bho .

Car is accident free with the service history and dealer booklets.

Car has the normal age related rust spots and needs the sills _ arches doing and the charger service rebuild - lovely original car and the Recaro interior is like new - was purchased for a very good price and as the clock is 185 I have no worries about daily driving - everything works on the car as it should .  Has solid paper work and has a Miltek stainless steel exhaust- Koni and apex shocks and head gasket rebuild in 2015- lots of parts ! This is not an investment car because 185k on the clock and the mot has stated the rust on sills but its not that bad at all - its perfect for me as a daily for a few years but plan on spending 3 k on it to get it in very good order- drove back floorless today and cooling everything working even the sunroof and spoiler- heater controls .

All headlights , fogs and seals are mint . The interior is the cleanest I have ever set my eyes on its immaculate with no wear.

Ready for the body shop - no wonder the handbrake was high - very common ripped weld . Hole where white fuel line bracket houses onto the welded thread in floor pan which I was aware of .

Perfect opportunity to give the interior a platinum wet vac .

You need some dry ice to get that tar sound proofing off of the top side of the floor pan. Chuck some on, cover it up it’s foil and some cloth on top, then gently tap it with a hammer and it should just crack off now the stuff is frozen hard.

Its looks horrid stuff for sure.  The welder at the body shop will do it- thanks for the offer though - I didn't know you could weld. I take it the cables need adjustment as well.

Apprentice trained  fabricator, used to build things from gates for the council to titanium heat exchangers at a local firm that’s one of the only ones in the country still going with the petro/chemical vessel capabilities. Many years ago now mind.

Got sassy g60 back from the fabricator and next on to paint next week.  Battled with the wing mirror screws all came out bar one in till the captive weld nut behind twisted off  after hammering in a hex and ratchet it came off after drill out - will just use a nut a the back instead. Also took off the side protector trims ready for paint.

X1 sill put in

x2 rear arch  drain lips

x 1 a pillar base.

x 2 10 p size holes in the floor pan where the fuel line brackets have the thread weld for the white plastic clamps to hose that carry the fuel lines.

wing work nothing major

Handbrake welded.

Front bumper iron piece put in.

All rot cut out and new metal cost 1 k  but orange peril gone and now ready for paint down both sides.  You have to make them look bad before they look good !

starting to put together the powder coated parts with nee genuine vag bolts .

Treated the car to amazon special registration plinth as old was was to far gone

90 mm spoonfed splitter which is a must on a G60

All interior taken out prior to paint and platinum wet vac.

Also after my Zender skirts wanted something for sassy so managed to find a none chav set. ABT replicas. £180 all in from the states. inc postage. Should now give a low profile  look to the car .  Can buy in smooth that you paint match body or texture which is the same as the front splitter. I went with smooth.  Im going to put them on at later date as dont want the paint shop to think they can do a rough job - I want the sills looking oe first with stone chip etc. .

Always a bonus when DMB have your dealer sticker ready made up . The first owner of my car was accurate sound ltd from Leicester owned by a lady called Irena Mason and keeper a Sam Robinson of Northampton - maybe it was a company setting up the sound systems at raves or concerts . Castles of Dover st Leicester was the dealers.

Superb! Always nice to fit new parts or refurbed parts. The side skirts look very nice and subtle in the pics. Should be great when fitted

An update for Sassy.

She is now in the paint shop after fabrication getting prepped for paint- both sides - front and rear bumper and also tailgate registration area.

Suspension and mount components arrived from Autodoc in under a week- managed to snag a set of B12 shocks and springs at half price for £360.00 - normally retails at over £600.00 so that was a huge help. Another bargain was the new hubs ready built up with speed sensor ring and new bearings £130.00 for the pair (only 4 cylinder fitment). Side skirts from the USA turned up today - these will go on at a later date as I want the paint shop to do a good job on the sills and not hide anything with them.

After paint I will try and fit as many as the components as possible and then she will be off to Jabba for charge service and timing belt- interior back in and she will be good to go for many years to come - of course with a rado niggle or two to test us.

Thanks Tone for your kind words- but you have hit the nail right on the head- will I keep her as now Im starting to think it would be be criminal to drag her through the UK salty roads - I have languarded her with all the wings and interior out- all up inside the inner panels- inner sill -  fuel filler inner -all arches and even inside the the front box chassis legs. She is such an honest car with absolute no crash damage - .
