Tools: 1 x 12mm and 1 x 14mm open ended spanners, 1 x can of WD40

Duration: 10 - 20 mins

Tips: Change the injectors when the engine is warm, it is easier.

Difficulty Level: Easy

What to do

1) Open the bonnet and locate the injectors. They sit at the front of the engine and have metal fuel lines running from the fuel metering head. The Injectors sit in the Inlet Manifold

2) Grab one of the Injector fuel lines and pull towards you, the injector should just pull out.

3) Using the Spanners remove the injector from the fuel line.

WARNING: The Fuel system is pressurised, when you remove the injector fuel may spray out, it will certainly dribble a small amount out so make sure there is no source of ignition close by and your not looking directly at the injector when you unscrew it!

4) Once you have removed the old injector replace it with the new one reversing the above procedure. Make sure that the Injector is screwed in tight to the fuel line.

5) Repeat the above for the other 3 Injectors you want to replace.

NOTES

A) Some 9A Injectors are secured with a clip, before pulling the injector out make sure there are no clips holding it in, if there are remove them.

B) If you find the injectors are not seating into the manifold because the rubber "O" Ring is tight, spray some WD40 onto the "O" ring and it'll slot straight in.

C) The engine may run rough for a few secs/ not start first turn as the fuel fills the new injector. Run the car on idle for a while and ensure that there are no fuel leaks soming from the Fuel Line / Injector nuts.

D) You can purchase a full set of Bosch Injectors for about £140.
