Rear Wiper / Wiper Motor Removal

You will need...

• Adjustable spanner
• 8mm socket
• 10mm socket
• Philips screwdriver

Wiper

Remove the plastic casing, it should just snap off.
Undo the 8mm nut and take the washer off then slide the wiper off. It may be neccessary to spray a little WD40 around where the wiper is secured, it's been on there a while!
Take the large nut off, I used an adjustable spanner for this but a socket will also do it! Remove the large rubber washer as well.

Motor

Remove the plastic boot lining (inside the boot), there are 6 plastic quater turn screws, be careful not to destroy them with a screwdriver. The lining should just drop off after the screws are turned.

The motor is now visible, it is secured on a bracket which needs to come off first. 4x 10mm bolts. The bracket should slide out easily.

Unplug the motor and remove the washer pipe (I just snipped it off!). Now you need to get the motor out, it really shouldn't be neccessary to remove anything else to get this out. You can see from the picture the final angle at which the motor comes out so you need to twist it until its in this possition.

You might like to block off the washer pipe to prevent any 'accidents', I just put a suitable sized screw in it.

Put the boot lining back on and then plug the hole on the outside with a 19/20mm blanking grommet available from halfords. You can also colour code the grommet with the correct primer, paint & laquer also availabale form Halfords.
