Late foglight replacement

You will need the following:

Large flathead screwdriver
Phillips screwdriver
1.5m of string (or thereabouts)

So let's begin

This operation is relatively simple (I did it), and should take about half an hour. It’s useful to have an extra pair of hands to help you out though.

Remove the indicator light

1. Remove the indicator light (I found prising it out carefully with a large screwdriver worked well)

5. For the next part you can leave the cable where it is - just attach it to the new lamp (assuming the cable is ok, obviously), or if you need to replace the wire too, you may wish to remove the grill for a better view.

6. Trace the cable back from the back of the fog light to where it connects near the battery (sorry about the photo).

7. Attach one end of the piece of string to the end of the cable that you are removing

8. Pull out the fog light and surround while the extra pair of hands feeds the string through.

9. Once the old fog light has been removed, untie the piece of string from the cable of the old light, and attach it to the end of the cable of the new light, and reverse the procedure (using the extra pair of hands to pull gently on the string from the other end). Screw in the new surround and admire ;-)

I advise washing the car and taking lots of photos before you get another stone chip ;-)
