  1. Thanks for the welcome guys, the dragster is pretty fun! 0-60mph in about 1second, 0-190mph in 7.4 so far. Looking for 200 in sub 7seconds next season. The Rado is in daily duties so don't plan on doing much, but it'll get little tweaks and improvements in due course. At work I build engines for pretty much anything 1930's straight 6 Talbots now punching 250bhp, 1.2 Coventry Climax engines in Lotus Elites making 125-130bhp, 1960's Abarth 2L 4cylinder with titanium rods, twin distributors making 235bhp. Got a few other more modern things in at the moment as well, 1970's Hart F2 engine and a ground up aluminium blocked 2.3L 16v Turbo Cosworth looking for over 600bhp :) My own mk2 project will be a 2L 9a (chosen for shorter rod length and less piston dwell at tdc) running a heavily ported head by myself, Newman 278 cams, MSD 6al ignition with 2step rev limit and timing controller, knife edged crank, lightened flywheel, shot peened and balanced rods, twin Weber 45's.

  3. Thought I better introduce myself on here. I'm Adam, 26, by day I build engines for historic circuit cars, in my spare time I race a 2000bhp dragster :) Previous car history is 6n Polo, standard mk2 Golf driver, GTi cam & Weber 32/34 carb, coilovers, G60 steels mk3 Golf 16v, coilovers, 16" TT wheels mk2 Golf GTD, coilovers, Renault Clio Turbine wheels, FMIC, 22psi boost, fuelling wound up mk2 Golf MTDi, coilovers, Zender Revolution wheels, Landrover pump, K24 turbo 30psi boost, .240 race nozzles, FMIC, running approx 200bhp which is now a project, will be running a 2l 16V on Weber 45's, shooting over 200bhp. 6l Ibiza TDI sport Well I stuffed the Ibiza into a ditch, and it seemed like a good idea to scratch the Corrado itch :) I've been around plenty! My cousin's on his 2nd G60, mate Steve has had 3 valvers and a G60, mate Martin 2 valvers and a G60. So now I have a 1995 2l 16v 9a 'rado in midnight blue, coilovers and will be picking up a set of 16" Borbet A's in the next week or so. 9a cams are awful, theres no low down power and its all a bit dull. I've got a spare 9a in the garage for the mk2 so taking the head off that to do a porting job on it and fit ABF cams to liven things up a bit. Half tempted to chuck a spiced up TDi 110 engine in it one day, maybe when the mk2 is done.
