Sorry for any confusion. I have the log book/V5 and a HPI certificate from when i purchased the vehicle. All thats missing is the service book where it has been stamped. Instead, I have a number of receipts detailing servicing costs since almost new. Hope this clears things up!

In the next month or so I am regrettably going to have to put my beloved Corrado up for sale - a new job means the tube is now my main mode of transport! My question is - how much should I put my car up for? Its a 1994 (M plate) 2.0 16v with 84,800miles on the clock. She is dark metallic blue/purple (sorry - dunno correct name), the bodywork etc is all fantastic - no scratched/bumps etc having been prof resprayed 15 months ago - with mint grey cloth interior. The car is standard apart from lowering springs (been on for 3000 miles - I never got round to changing them back to the originals sat in my shed) and 17 inch Team Dynamics Vulcan wheels that look fantastic. The previoius owner lost the service book, but i have large wedge of receipts detailing history/servicing etc since almost new. She also has 9 months tax and 7 months MOT, and an alarm. Sorry to be so vague (and lacking a digital camera no pictures) but any help is very much appreciated.

Cheers guys. I am guessing it was someone on the other side of the road - still quite annoying tho! You'd think they could make the speed traps 'directional' especially on roads with centre reservations as you speeding is the last of your worries if you're going the wrong way down an A road!!

On my way to work this morning I was happily driving along my normal route to work at about 50-55mph in a 50mph area. Remembering there was a speed camera in the area I slowed down about 600m before the camera. Then, as I passed the camera (in covoy with a number of cars) I was flashed (cannot remember if it was once or twice) but I was only going 35mph!!! All the cars around me were donig the same speed. What could have set the camera off (guessing that if I'm doing 35mph in picture I would be okay?) or do cameras sometimes randomly go off?

I might be wrong here but wasnt the coupe version, whilst ugly, capable of nearly 200 mph over 40 yrs ago!!!!

Too true - an original Cobra 289 or 427 really is something got behold, its just a shame that most people see it and are convinced its running on Jaguar running gear and was assembled in your back garden! Still rather have my car and a house to live in than a Cobra and a tent (although its a close cal!!)

I once drove my mums partners Porker 996 (bought direct from the factory they gave him a months insurance for the family!). Still prefer my C, much cheaper when it goes wrong!!! But...My dads taken me for a drive in: XJ220 - still my dream car Lister Storm - headache in five mins F40 - mmmmm Diablo Countach - blew away a boy racer in a Cortina about 15yrs ago Ace Cobra 427 - 'I can tell thats a fake mate!' heard about 10 times (quarter of a million quid invoice put them right!, mind you this was during the days of silly prices in ther early 90s) Maserati Bi-turbo - cant believe you can pick these up for £5k now. Thers others but I cant remeber. Before anyone gets too jealous or thinks its complete BS, my dad works in the trade and these were all vehicles on pre-sale inspections!!

Having just read this thread I phoned my insurance company (Admiral) to check my cover as I have an alarm and as far as I know it is not Thatcham approved. The customer services department reassured me that they were happy to cover the car as long as it did have an alarm, there was no prerequisite for Thatcham approval. Sounds too good to be true given they were very cheap as well.

Cheers guys. Phoned another place this morning, giving ride height of the car etc, and they said it would be no problem. Just hope it doesnt fail now!!

I just took my Corrado to get its MOT for the first time. The car has been lowered 40mm with a 60mm front spoiler. The tester refused to test it, as it was too low, and indicated that other test centres would do the same. how do you guys get your cars through the test (I've seen much lower than mine!) without the hassle of changing springs etc. Do some test centres have less deep rolling roads. Finally, taking the front spoiler off will involve removing the whole bumper due to the previous owner assempbling it incorrectly, so Id rather avoid this. Cheers

Kangaroo Boy, I think, but might be wrong, that Elephant mean that whilst your corrado is insured for the road lowered (Ie still have valid insurance) they do not cover the cost of the mods - ie will not payout for coilovers getting knackered in an accident. I think the same applies for my 17' rims where they'll not payout if damaged but the car as a whole is still protected.

I used elephant.co.uk Cheapest quote I got by a mile - mines lowered 40mm, on 17inch rims - insured no probs (I''m 24) Hope they're of use - online quote takes 5mins

My self and the dad are going to do our first service on my Corrado (’94 16v) this weekend. However, from previous experience my dad says that replacing the plugs can be a problem due to plug sockets being too wide reach down into the head. :( Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a product out there that can be purchased or have you resorted to grinding down your sockets (being Snap-On my dads hesitant to do this!!). Any help is much appreciated.

I'm looking to get a 50mm front spoiler for my C. On previous threads GPC has repeatedly been mentioned as a source. Does anyone have contact details/website for them. Sorry if I'm asking the obvious, I guess its part and parcel of being a novice Corrado owner.

I’ve just bought a ’94 2L 16v Corrado. Everything with the car is fine except a noise from the exhaust under acceleration – normally between 2-3000rpm. At idle everything sounds fine, but as the revs pick up a rattling noise appears to come from the front of the exhaust. Additionally I can feel a seemingly linked vibration through my feet in the driver’s footwell. Any suggestions as to the cause of this problem and what action I may need to undertake. Cheers
