Brand new Corrado G60 Idle Screw 037133432
MartyrKomplx replied to g60steve's topic in Parts for Sale
Three questions sir: 1) Are you still offering? 2) Are you willing to ship overseas? 3) Will it have the o-ring included? Mine just mysteriously popped off (?) during a drive home one day. Very frustrating. For a few days, I pretended I had a blow-off valve, whenever I let off the throttle, and it bled out of the hole the screw left behind. Haha ... then I decided I didn't like my doubled idle, and realized that I basically have a hole in my throttle body. -
I'll assume that for you, passenger's side is the left-hand side? Which sounds good, since I'm across the pond my driver's side (broke) is the left-hand side ... pretty sure there's no actual difference in handles between left & right hand drive corrados, right? I'd be interested in figuring out a way to get that one, currency differences and all. I've been having no luck with the local part yards.

First off: No, it's not the striker. ... sorry, don't need anyone wasting their time suggesting the repair kit or anything. My left-hand door handle broke, no it's not the striker. Striker is fine. Actually it's the piece of metal plate that moves the striker that's broke. I would've loved for the striker to be broken. So much simpler, since it's so common theres kits to fix it. I've heard that some of the Passats handles would fit (with the lock requires a bit of fudging with the striker, and without the lock fits perfect ... just no lock). Is this correct? What year passat should I be looking for. Nextly, if this is true, I've heard '90-'95, i've also heard '95-'97, and '90-'97 ... which set of years is the correct set? At least, I can still open & close the door by using a digital striker ... my finger ... it's a digit ... digital .. haha..ha...um ... yeah.

Hah... I actually have a similar problem. My striker is fine, it's the party that MOVES the striker that broke! Checking out some local pull a parts right now. I can maybe do something for you with my old handle... Just to be certain when you say drivers side are you talking left hand or right hand?

Suppose it kinda does.... looks like my Bentley is missing some pages when it was bound... So I'll be asking questions around the forum that might be in those missing pages -

Battery light goes out yeah... Stopped at an auto parts store and they used their magic battery & alternator checker and said the regulator on the alternator is bad, though -

Turned out to be an FPR and pump issue. R&R both, ops check good. Now I'm looking into a wiring issue... When ever I put a high current draw on the system (headlights fog lights blower motor while driving, my fuel gauge stops working until I turn off items... Namely the headlights which isn't good while night driving When i reduce the load the coolant light blinks as if I just started the car... Voltage regulator in the dash maybe? -
"Loss of Power at WOT" ... turned into "Won't Start"

Well replaced the fpr and the pump. It all works now throughout throttle range & load conditions -

I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the fuel system... I've posted in the technical board: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=86361 I've got a pump and regulator on order since I found some inexpensive. Also I can't seem to post replies with tapatalk... I tried twice and had to login through my phone browser to post this... My work network will let me browse the forum but when I try to login I get denied ... Weird. -

Seems to be fuel system related... I've posted in one of the technical boards http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=86361 I've got a pump and regulator on order since I found them (relatively) inexpensive... Pretty sure it's one of them -

"Loss of Power at WOT" ... turned into "Won't Start"

Actually ... how important is the sealing ring (just under flange around the opening of the gas tank) in regards to fuel pressure? While inspecting, it looks like it's the wrong part ... it's less than 1/2" tall(wide? ... from bottom to top) as opposed to the ones I see online look to be about an inch or more. I also don't have the flange locked down with the threaded ring right now (removed after the "fuel pump pressure check" before the "regulator pressure check" because I was doing a quick visual inspection of the pump) Maybe that's why I don't have pressure? Like I've confessed, I've never worked on any car fuel system before. -

Actually ... I got the car free with the purchase of an (extremely) used/worn Bentley from some guy I met. But seriously, I'll try to get some pictures, but it's not pretty right now ... it's jacked up, hood open, trunk carpet moved aside for fuel pump inspection, etc. -
So, I just bought my G60 the other day, and it's already down for the count. It started out as intermittent: sometimes when I hit WOT, the engine would just lose power, and start dropping RPMs. I could kick the pedal a few times, and it sorted itself out. Didn't think much of it at the time, since it'd been sitting for a bit before it was mine. The problem, however (d)evolved into something more serious: once the pedal is in about half-way, I lose power and drop RPM ... release the pedal a bit and it comes back. What this meant practically, is that I had an extremely difficult time in starting from a dead-stop. I was out picking up a new air filter, and testing out my freshly installed speedo-cable (yay, now the speedo works, and my spoiler is auto), so I had to limp the Corrado home ... very slowly, frustratingly. Once I got it home, it got even worse: after letting it sit for about 10-20 minutes, it would refuse to start up without priming the pump several times. I've never messed with fuel systems before, so it took me a while to figure some of this out, during which I've almost drained the battery. (I'll have it recharged at a local place tomorrow) During my troubleshooting I've noticed a few things: (in order of troubleshooting) 1) I had to repetitively "prime" the pump, just to get the motor running 2) Even when i got the motor running it would only last 10-15 seconds, before idle/stalling out. 3) Even in neutral, if i had the motor running, I couldn't open the throttle up without loss of RPM (to the point of nearly stalling or stalling. 4) Pressure gauge hooked up just before fuel filter showed about 10psi tops during "priming" and only about 14 psi during idle. And even then, it wouldn't hold the pressure during "priming" / motor not running, it'd be constantly dropping. 5) Pressure gauge hooked up just before FPR showed 0psi (pretty sure I've got it hooked up right, cause I can hear the fuel returning to the tank) 5) My full fuel tank on Day 1 of ownership dropped to nearly empty on Day 3 (I've driven less than 100 miles) 6) Found mysterious (fresh) fluid coating the underside of the forward/right suspension arm. (I couldn't tell if it smelled like fuel, since I've got a cold; it felt like fuel though) What I've been able to figure out is: 1) I have spark, otherwise the motor wouldn't run at all. I have air, so it has to be the fuel. (The 3 requirements of happy: Fuel,Air,Spark) 2) It's either the Pump, the FPR, or leaking supply fuel line (I would have pressure if it was the return line leaking, right? since the return is after the regulator) (The suspected leak is in the frame rail (?) .. the conduit the hard lines go through aft of the wheel well up to the engine compartment, So i'm having a tough time verifying if it really is a leak there or not, everything before and after the conduit doesn't have any visible leak) What I'm planning is (at least temporarily) bypassing all the hard lines, and taking the filter output up to the FPR with 5/16" rubber 3.5bar hose. That should tell me if it's the hard lines or not. However, I'm not sure how to narrow it down to either the Pump or the Regulator after that. As I'm only rather amateur in troubleshooting cars, am I making sense to any of you (more experienced) mechanics/owners? Edit: A fuel leak would make sense when you remember that My Full went to Empty in about a day.

How's it going? I'm new to the Corrado world, just bought my first last Friday. My previous two cars were both Nissan 300zx, so moving to a FWD supercharged setup will take a bit to get used to, I think; but i was already enjoying the experience ... Which brings me to my disappointment: Less than two days after purchase, my G60 gave up. However, -I- haven't given up yet. I may be new to the Corrado, but I bring (amateur) auto mechanic skills I've picked up after working on my Z's and (professional?) troubleshooting skills from my work fixing RADAR system. I'll be posting details/questions on my current problems in the forum shortly. Also, I'm looking for any other online communities or Corrado parts stores that can be recommended. Hello, thank you, and until next time.
