Hey all, I'm looking to replace the fuel pump on my 91 16valve. It's the inline one near the rear wheel drivers side. Firstly it's whining a lot and takes a while on turn over before it starts, so I presume it's the problem. Does anyone have a guide or step by step instructions on replacing it as i'm sure i'll run into issues with air locks and fuel leaks. Cheers in advance !

Yeh was hoping to avoid removing the rack, just wanted to make sure it wasn't an easy fix before I rolled the sleeves up for that one. I'll check for the seal first though. Cheers.!

This could be the issue alright, there is fluid on the subframe, maybe the fluid has splashed back up over the boot, hard area to diagnose.Was the o ring a vw part and is there a release valve to open before removing the pipe.?

Fluid seems to be leaking from under the rubber booth where the steering column comes through the bulkhead, is there a seal underneath as it very hard to see, or is there something else at play, any idea's out there? Fluid level has dropped in reservoir.

Has anyone any simple method's of replacing the rear axle/subframe bushes on a 91 16valve, is there a simple way of resting it on a jack and removing the bolt and bush without having to drop the whole subframe out? Don't have a ramp handy.. Cheers in advance.

I'll give the valves a go so, don't fancy changing the matrix, not too handy with the spanners. Thanks for the heads up !

Yes it has the matrix bypass valves fitted. Had the engine running and found that the right hose got hot through to the matrix fitting but the hose on the left only got hot up until the valve, which itself was hot, but not hot after were the hose ran into the matrix fitting. I take it i've a blocked valve or does this valve only open after a certain amount of time? If this is the issue can it be manually cleared out or does it need replacing? Cheers.

Hi all, I'm having an issue with the heater on my 16 valve. Initially it works, blows warm air for a few minutes and then just blows cold, anyone got any solutions ? Please freezing here.
