Got a CNC'd SLC emblem for the rear...only had the C on the car.
-
I'm going to have to turn some attention to my B5.5 to get it past safety inspection...
-
Hasn't left my garage....I did do he obligatory spoiler up and down video after fixing it but that's just on my Facebook.
-
I just got it working last night with a replacement. And I have a whole motor and mechanism coming that I got for a steal to hang onto. I've also acquired a B3 Passat moon roof, repaired 1 of the broken fogs with a Bosch lens..the second one will get done tonight.
-
Well thought it was doing some good...then once I put the spoiler back together and up into the car, nothin....took it back out opened up the motor again and a few broken pieces fell out...no bueno. Found a motor for $25 from Tampa, FL..waiting to hear back.
-
That was the assumption I went under last night and I removed the spoiler and started cleaning up the internals...working on putting it back together today. It moved fairly smoothly of course I don't have anything to compare it to...

Completely disconnected the fusebox this morning, and reconnected it (most likely not all of it....damn there are a lot of plugs and wires) However, now I can now put a fuse into 16, and turn the car to ACC and it won't pop off, AND I can raise the spoiler manually. However, if I try to put it down, a 15a fuse pops, if I try it with a 30a in there...just for testing...it will go up, but does not try to go down, I have the ABS/Brake light out and visible and when I press the down part of the switch that bulb dims.

Spent the morning with the seat out crammed under the dash. I completely disconnected the fusebox. I did find a ground wire with no connector on it just hanging out but its not a part of the same circuit as the spoiler. There are a few single plugs not connected under there but I cannot find matching connectors anywhere
-
Disconnected spoiler switch, control module, ABS light, glovebox light and sunroof motor. Still popping...bad ground?
-
Guess who has a short....this guy. Popped some fuses around and low and behold 16 is popping off each time. Anywhere this one commonly gets shorted out from?
-
It's connected....I can't raise the spoiler manually via the switch either. Everything in the trunk look like it's connected, I can raise and lower the spoiler with the knob in the back, and it is locked in it's proper place. My speedometer, MFA and Cruise all work fine, so I focused on the control module. I do not feel any clicking in the Control Module when attempting to activate it, so now I am wondering if that is bad.
-
Not at all. I think it is disconnected at the back of the fuse box. Just trying to find the right connector
-
I know it was purposefully disconnected so it is wiring...
-
Mine is electronic
-
So the connector should have both?
-
Blue and black wire in a black connector goes into the M section of the back of the fusebox
-
Think I found what I'm looking for on paper. Now to find the connector in the cluster f of wires underthere
-
So I'll throw out my first noob question. The PO disconnected the spoiler at a point under the dash. The switch is connected to the spoiler ctrl module, where do the other wires coming out of the module go to....to a relay or something on the fusebox?
-
HA...it will not be a matter of IF I need it :-) All my problems right now are electrical, my weakest point for repairs but I'll figure it out. And I'm sure I'll have some questions for y'all.
-
So right now I have the dash apart to get the spoiler, sunroof, lower center stack gauges reconnected as the previous owner disconnected them while troubleshooting. After driving it back from the shop it was at, it has a slight misfire above 3k RPM, it's been sitting since November so I'll give it some time to resolve itself. I have a hard time believing that the pin from the distributor is still in the engine, by the size of it, it would have had to get caught up somewhere and already been causing trouble.

Hey All, just brought a new VW into the stable. 93 SLC in Satin Silver. Owned a 90 G60 back in the early 2000's when I had no clue what I was doing around a car, so I'm excited to have a nicer version of my first VW. I've only got filthy pics of it before I left to get it back home, tearing into it now to get some items straightened out. Already been reading through the posts here, VWVortex's Corrado forums are just dead these days.
