MikeyGordon started following Suspension opinion/advice please, New guy, considering buying a Corrado, Wet passenger footwell... and and 7 others
-
I recently sold a Corrado and currently own a mk2, both 1.8 20vt's though. Corrado has a more sporty feel, lower to the ground, slightly newer feel about it as well. Handling wise, not much different as they are remarkably similar. Although I would love a G60'd motor, I think when I buy another Rado I will be swayed towards a VR6. Have you driven a car with either of these engines? Edit: Working on older VW's is a breeze!

Check if it's using coolant, check under scuttle tray for leafs etc blocking the drains at each end leading to wheel well, check door membranes are intact. I've not done a Corrado heater matrix, but can't see it being much different to a mk2 golf really. If it is then dash shouldn't need to come out.

Parts received pal. Thanks. -
I would prefer to keep it bog standard to be honest. I've been looking for a cheap 16v mk2 golf to keep standard but they are creeping up in price a bit and I can see the Corrado doing the same hopefully. It would be a shame to rip apart a low mileage clean example so I will have a good look around it and decide from there. Thanks for your input man.

As some of you may know, I sold my Corrado 20vt a few months back, and I am getting serious urges for one again. One has popped up near me for a not bad price. It's an early 1.8 16v in red with black cloth interior. Low mileage, circa 68k, 3 owners, it's been off the road for a year and a half so would need a wee bit of recommissioning. Would this model be worth keeping standard if I was to purchase? Or 20vt it.

Intercooler, DownPipe, wiring loom, G60 flywheel, VR6 clutch. Not hard in a Rado, all your engine mounts will bolt straight onto the 1.8t, use your own gearbox. Get the wiring loom and ECU with the engine if possible.

Just realised the vr6 bell housing is different for the vr6 than G60/16v etc, I need a box from a 4 pot sorry pal. I'll take the bracket though for sure, it is for the cylinder type bottle that bolts to the inner wing and not the rectangle chassis leg type? -

PAS reservoir bracket posted? Also how much are you looking for the gearbox and would you post that? -
Will a golf mk2 16v exhaust manifold and downpipe fit a Corrado 16v ?

9a engine is same height as a KR so I imagine it would. -
Aye any 4 cylinder Rado mounts or a certain version of Passat 4 cylinder mounts is what you're after I think. Mk3 front bracket is different to Rado.
-
I've got one pal. I'll try get a for sale ad up on here soon. There's an ad on gumtree just now. Search in Aberdeenshire.

First time I have seen this thing somehow and it looks like an excellent car and very well put together.
