  1. Can the scuttle cover that I pictured be purchased? I tried getting a new one from VW themselves but they told me that the part had been obsolete for years :(
  2. Cheers Cressa! I think it was removed when I had an issue before. Thank you all for your help so far. I have been trying to get the car ready for sale would you believe since last summer but it has been problem after problem like you wouldn't believe!
  3. The carpet is wet from the top right where the seal would be. I did have the windscreen replaced in August so I shall get Autoglass out to check it
  4. Ok. Just going to turn the car around to get it under the car port before it rains tonight! Other than the parts noted, will I need anything else that you know of?
  5. That part looks different. Is that a heater scuttle foliage cover?
  6. It's definitely rain. It happened at the beginning of December following that real heavy rain. Left it out in the drizzle deliberately to see which fault it was and it seems conclusive now. Although I have had leaks previously thought to be the heater matrix but could not replicate the fault when given to the garage. I am going to have to try Ebay
  7. Thank you. Any idea as to where I can get the cover seal from? I tried VW years ago and the part is obsolete!
  8. Hi Guys, sorry to reply to this thread instead of starting a new one but I cannot work this app out plus I have an emergency. Finally after getting my oil leak fixed, I now have a water leak. A bad one too. Everytime it rains my passenger footwell gets wet. It even happens in light rain. Is there a known problem that causes this? Is there a solution? This part under the bonnet could be gone....
  9. Thanks for the tips here guys. I have the car booked in with my mechanic now for the 23rd September. He is brilliant and has worked on the car for years. I hope everything goes ok. If he has any problems I shall divert him here! @Jim Bowen, could that be part of an air conditioning system? Allegedly my one has but didn't know that until recently! Doesn't seem to be any controls for it in the dash though...? Even the guys from Autoglass knew a lot mechanically about the car! ....when I spannered the windscreen in July!:bonk:
  10. Good Evening Guys, I need to pick your brains as I have to replace an oil cooler and radiator on my Storm. I went to buy one today but got stuck on a number of questions that the seller was asking. For the VR6, do I need a 13, 16 or 19 Row Cooler? Will I also need a new thermostatic plate and alloy heat exchanger cap? I know that braided hoses are best but am not sure on the other parts:scratch: In addition to this I need a new radiator to go with it. I have had a look online but bizarrely prices are around £60 but then jump to £140 plus. Does anybody know the reason for this? It is very important for me to say that my Rado is AUTOMATIC and I am replacing these parts due to an oil leaker from the cooler. Answers to the above as well as any advice will be most welcome Thank you in advance:thumbleft:
  11. Think I may have found the problem. On the invoice for the mot it says 'n/s/f anti roll bar end link rubber boot perished' Would that cause the tracking to go out?
  12. Thank you guys, I think what I will have to do is give it to the mechanic that we have always used, investigate it and then just get whatever it is done. The guy has always been quality and has done loads of work on the Corrado before. I would second with you Jamie and just get the lot done. Without having any mechanical knowledge myself it is difficult to know what to do, hence my post here. The tire/exhaust garage were at pains to tell me several times that they cannot give out advice but that it was the wishbones. Without the car handling correctly it just doesn't feel right. Once I have the problem sorted I shall let you guys know what the problem was.
  13. Evening everybody, This is my first 'real' post so go easy! I have been told that I need to replace my wishbones at the front. I initially took the car to the tyre/exhaust garage as I thought the front wheels were out of alignment. It turned out to be the tracking. The fault only became apparent last summer. I have called around a few places and it seems that the wishbones themselves are readily available. My question really is do the Ball Joints and Bushes also need to be replaced? Are there any other parts that I need to get too? Is there any other preparation work, or work following them being fitted that I would need to do? Thank you for your help in advance. Paul
