HI Chris, This V9 kit is the new one isnt it? How do you find it? Whats the power like? Any running/driving niggles at all? Jules

me too - we are a rare breed! Dont use this forum much - sorry :( - I use clubgti and vwvortex mostly - same ID (jcorallo) on all boards. I'm OBD1 with z-eng. Chip is OK - not running lean or anything - stock boost so it all still works. Jules

VR6 minor water problems... long... boring... help! :-)

ok - if you stand at the front of the car, look right down inbetwen the radiator and the engine, in the centre - you will see the oil filter bowl jutting out the engine. Its quite low down - prob nearly up to your arm pit when you reach in. On top of this there will be 3 sensors with single wires coming out of them. One is low oil pressure switch, the other high oil pressure switch, and the 3rd is the oil temp sender. They all have only one wire going to them. Simply reach down and remove all the wires and clean up the metal tab connections. Dont worry about getting the wires mixed up - the blue wire goes to the blue coloured sender, the yellow to yellow etc.... but check first though!! :D Once they are all cleaned up and put back - you should be set to go. For info - the water temp senders are nearer the top of the engine. Follow the top rad pipe towards the engine - it goes to a large plastic (thermostat) housing - this housing has 2 or 3 temp sensors in it. get your water leak fixed and put a new thermostat in - otherwise you could wreck that nice car!! HI One thing about those one-man kits is that.... they can be a right old pain in the ar*e! What you really need is a 2nd person helper friend to pump the brake pedal for you. Reason being is that its much better if you gently nip up the nipple when the pedal is all the way down to the floor (takes a lot of communication between yourself and your helper!!), then get them to gently raise the pedal to let the fluid replenish slowly in the maser cyl, then gently undo the nipple again as they start to push the pedal down again.... this stops air getting in past the threads of the bleed nipple - which can happen if you've un-done it that bit too much. Of course, you need to make sure youre doing everything in the right order, and on a level flooring.... and so on... Jules

Somethings wrong there mate.... my VR6 engine was stock except I was running a GIAC chip, with a Scorpion exhaust. I did 16.2.... I've done 15.0's with the supercharger fitted - and this I believe is due to a knackered engine - ie: I should be doing 14.75s.... Maybe you had the hand-brake on??!! heheh! I'll hopefully be going 16th or the 26th. This weekend is too soon - too much to do so little time.... and its going to snow soon it seems....!? We'll get a thead going nearer the time and get everyone out to play again... Jules

If anyone would care to email them to me - that would be great..... Top day was had by all.... anyone got any pics/mpegs/avi's of me in the Golf on the 1/4 mile?? corradog60s - did you see what boost you were getting? Were your wheels actually slipping or would the car just not go?! Cheers, Jules
