Hi all, one of my mates is looking to dump a VR6 engine into his mk1 Golf. Does anyone know of anyone or recommend anyone who has experience in doing these conversions? Thanks

I'm in the process of replacing my cooling system, I've bought new silicone radiator hoses, new thermostat & housing kit but not sure if I should get a standard radiator or an upgraded racing aluminium one. My fans seem really noisy at the moment as well. There's one in eBay below, is it worth investing in something like this and are they simple bolt off, bolt on? http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/361362390621

What seals should I be looking at to replace?

Car standard apart from an induction system. Driving normally, my oil temp hovers around 104-108 degrees Celsius and as soon I give it a bit of stick, creeps to around 114-124

I'm sure this topic has been raised many times but I'm a bit confused as to what to go for after reading many posts. Some people saying the vr6's aren't designed for fully synthetic and others say fully should be used if the car is driven hard and if it's a highly miler. My vr6 is on 160,000miles and driven hard most times when I do drive it. Currently running 10w40 Mobil semi synthetic. Would appreciate any advise or experiences
