    BK 299

Hi everyone, I'm just after a bit of advice and information. I'm looking to buy some BK 299's from topgear.co.uk but was stuck between the high power blacks and the silvers. I've searched a lot on the internet for pictures and so far i think i'd go for the high power blacks. Does anyone have these wheels, if so whats your views?
  2. thanks for all the help. a quick call to 16VG60 cleared things up though. i can get the injectors out but the new manifold doesnt have the brass inserts. i'll pop down to the local VW place to get the parts in the week.
  3. sorry, what i meant is the actual injector part that needs to indo is circular (i.e. its made like that). its like this in a haynes manual but doesnt show how to get them out. any other ides?
  4. hi everyone i was just wondering if anyone who's fitted a 50mm inlet or just changed their's knows how to go about removing the actual injectors from the lower half of the manifold. The manifold its self is off but the injectors are rounded so i can use a socket or spanner to remove. any ideas?
  5. yeah, i know but to be honest i have no realy way of getting it down to either as i only had use of 1st gear! The local mechanic has managed to free up all gears except 2nd so the car is drivable but only just. He's going to have a better look tomorrow but then maybe i'll give JMR a call and book it in.
  6. Thanks a lot for the replies guys. I've got a local mechanic coming over tomorrow to have a look. I've mentioned what was said on here so i'll see how it goes. Tim
  7. right. just got in now. a complete disaster tonight. same problem as mentioned but the car got jammed in 4th gear with a whole lot of crunching and generally bad noises. even holding the clutch down did nothing. eventually i managed to wrestle it to neutral and coast to a lay by. i've just got towed home by my dad and only have 1st gear. nothing else. i'm guessing this is something fairly major. just need to try to speak to a few people tomorrow after work.
  8. hi everyone I've had my 1990 1.8 16v for nearly a year now with no problems at all. within the last week i've had a few problems getting 3rd and 4th then coming back from the west sussex cgti meet yesterday it got really bad. the cars drivable and you can easily select all gears with the engine off and also driving at low revs but anything over 4000rpm loses 3rd and 4th. 1st to 2nd is fine but it takes all my effort to get 3rd or 4th but 5th is then fine :? i've checked for the missing circlip, it wasnt there but even after replacing it, its made no difference. any ideas. sorry to bring this topic up again.
  9. Saw a red G60 parked up at brighton marina last night. i parked up behind it but it was still there when i left. nice looking car, front spliter didnt seem so impressed with the curb it was parked up against though.
  10. Last year i got to drive a porshe GT3 and an impreza wrx sti round goodwood. The impreza blew me away as it was (being only 18 and owning a 1.4 fiesta) but the GT3 was just amazing!!! Hitting 145mph down the back straight was great fun. Other than that driving my dads lotus exige round a car park and now my 16v C. :D Tim
  11. i was planning on getting up to GTi international but unfortunatly have other plans. i was looking at being the main named (1st) driver on a golf 16v and that was affordable but on the Corrado it wasnt. it was the insurance company that recommended going the way we have which is me as a named driver with my dad as the main. i'm not bothered too much about not being able to build up no claims cos hey, i'm drving a Corrado!
  12. Hey G-master where abouts in east sussex are you from? i collected the car from near hastings. just wondering if anyone else was from round these parts?
  13. Hi, thanks I'm from Sussex, between Brighton & Worthing. i've already noticed quite a few nice Corrado's round the area. i'm not sure if any of them are on here though. With Admiral in my name with dad as a named driver its about £1200 a year, so paid monthly its not so bad.
  14. Hey everyone, I'm new here. I thought i'd introduce myself. i'm 18 and recently sold my 1st car but knew i wanted a higher performance car for my next car. i'd been searching for 16v mk2 golfs but found a few Corrado's for sale and knew this was the car for me. i collected my Corrado on saturday. a nice red 16v, H reg, 95K miles. i just have to clear up a bit of debt then some subtle mods will be coming soon. cheers, Tim
