  1. Hi Rob, I saw your covers on a mint Corrado VR6 that went through a recent Classic Car Auction. They looked like an excellent solution. Do you have any left? Can you send me details of price and how to buy?
  2. Hi Anna, Are these roof moldings still available? What's the current price and contact details?
  3. I know this question has been asked in the past but as the years roll by, the choice of tyres for standard 15" speedlines (205/50r15) is becoming worse and worse. As far as I can see, the choice is limited to cheap budget brands or at best lower end premium tyres, 2-3 generations old. So the question is; should I go for something like a Vredestein Sportrac 5 / Hankook Ventus Prime 3 or downsize to a 195/50 and go for a more accomplished (albeit not sports focused) tyre such as a Dunlop Sport BluResponse or Continental Premium Contact 5? I know none of these tyres looks any good but from what i can gather they are leagues ahead of the far sexier Toyo Proxes in terms of performance. I'm guessing that in terms of performance, most tyres would be a step up to the aging rubber currently on the car, although the current Firestones do look good!
  4. Hi all, new to this forum. Having previously looked in from the outside, have always found the-corrado forum a great source of information and experience. Can't say that I'm particularly familiar with any 'forum' protocol but am sure that someone will put me right! I owned a couple of Corrado's back in the late 90's and after a 15(ish) year break, decided to buy a Corrado VR6 around 18mths ago and have loved every moment of ownership since.. My first Corrado was a Green G60. Fantastic car and really cemented my passion for the cars. Then went onto buy a 94L black VR6 which at the time i found to be a bit flat after the torque of the G60. I recall that road tests of the day showed pretty disparate performance stats for the VR6, ranging from the incredible results and'being quoted in the same breath as 968's/Vanquish's' to being hardly any quicker than some mundane hot-hatches. I was left with the feeling that I had bought a friday afternoon car (assuming the Germans' applied the same working practices as BL!)and after a short while the dealer agreed to buy the car back off me. Looking back, I'm pretty certain that it was all me not recognising the difference between the low down grunt of the G60 vs the need to rev the standard VR6. Anyway, having decided to get back into Corrrado ownership, i decided i had to give the VR6 a go again and what a cracking car I must have bought. Definitely not a friday afternoon car in my opinion. Being a performance stats geek, i bought myself a Garmin GLO, downloaded Harry's Dyno and can tell you that my 25 year rado, is pretty much on the pace with the best contemporary performance stats. Must confess that i give the old girl a few advantages (only one up, 1/4 tank, and only slightly downhill) but when I even the odds a little, she's probably less than 10% off the pace. Which brings me onto my first themed question(s); - do any of you guys have your own performance stats? - what difference do the various mods make to real world performance? (interested to know what the shrick vgi yielded in performance terms not power output). - Are you aware of any airfield days that would allow acceleration tests? Anyone interested in getting a group test together? - has anyone got a vbox / ever tested the usual acceleration tests? best i get out of my Garmin GLO is 8hz which is better than a standard phone gps but not as accurate as a vbox. Sure I'm in trouble for such a long first blog! will get the hang of it!
