  1. WOW!!! I am speechless. I can't thank you enough for the info. Yes, I previously went to a mechanic that modified my ignition timing temporarily. Regarding the idle screw on the throttle body, I thought 9A didn't have one. I also cleaned my throttle body so I will check the screw. Thank you once again for your support! I will comeback with news once I do the ignition timing
  2. Hey guys, I recently replaced the OEM Bosch distributor with a brand-new one from "JP Group". After swapping it when I start the engine the car revs'up at 2000-2500 RPM and gradually descends to 700-800RPM in about 2-3 minutes then the engine stops. When the car reaches 700-800RPM the idle is very rough. Does anyone have a clue what could be the problem?

    PCV 2.0 16v 9A idle

    I had a look on my car and the valves are as follows: Black : 05313350 the on/off valve Grey : 026133517 frequency valve My idle is oscillating and with correct distributor timing it sits at 1100-1200rpm. I had to modify the distributor position to min. for the car to idle at 900-1000rpm. I had the spark plugs replaced, leads, rotor,distributor cap, temp sensor replaced, 3 idle valves boght (2 used and 1 new - aftermarket. None of them make buzzing noise. Checked for current and it's ok. I am just so tired of buying them. From what I understand i'ts not mandatory for a idle valve to buzz ). I cleaned the throttle body and will replace vacuum hoses and injector o'rings. The vacuum hoses don't seem to be leaking but I will replace them with silicon ones. Used some carb spray on the injector o'rings and the engine changed note but not that drastically that will compensate for 400-500rpm. I will test the frequency valve accordingly to your instructions and see if it works & check the harness for voltage. Is my understanding correct that the frequency valve should make a ticking noise? The on/off valve the testing should be pretty straight forward I guess... With the engine on I should be able to blow thru the valve form the canister side. Thanks once more for you're help!

    PCV 2.0 16v 9A idle

    Thanks vw rule! Always on the case with great information! This is what I managed to find out: "All models with gasoline engines are equipped with some form of fuel vapor control device. The evaporative emission control system prevents the escape of raw fuel vapors (unburned hydrocarbons, or HC) into the atmosphere. A carbon (charcoal) canister is used to store fuel tank vapors that accumulate when the engine is not running. On most models, a control valve is used to prevent these vapors from entering the intake manifold when the engine is not running. When the engine is running, these vapors are carried to the intake manifold by allowing fresh air into the bottom of the canister. On vehicles with CIS-E fuel injection, the carbon canister is isolated from the intake manifold by a solenoid valve and a frequency valve. The solenoid valve is ON or open whenever the engine is running. The frequency valve is cycled open and closed by the Motronic control unit to control flow rate depending on coolant temperature and engine speed/load conditions. The canister is usually located in one of the front inner fenders." [ATTACH=CONFIG]96593[/ATTACH] Does this mean that the frequency valve is responsible for idling?
  5. Hi guys! I'v been dealing with some idle issues and all the signs led to a vacuum leak. It all comes down now to the PCV valve now. I searched all over and found nothing related to the 2.0 16v 9A PCV valve. There are apparently two types of PCV's blue and black. One that is closed with no voltage(blue) and the other one opened (black BOSH). All this information is related to VR6 so I don't know how much it applies to the 9A . Searching for what I think should fit my car 050 133 517 I found both black and blue. This leaves me wondering, wich is the right one...

Did a some searching on line and it seems that there are two types of check valves: one for the non ABS/ABS for UK and a so called F-piece ( part no.027133382H. I think the name F-piece implies that the shape of the check valve resembles a F ( _I_I ) instead of the _I_I_ . The thing is that I didn't managed to find a picture of this part online. What I did find is pictures from other cars which you could almost spot it. [ATTACH=CONFIG]96572[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]96574[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]96576[/ATTACH] So this means that LHD corrados with ABS do not have a separate brake servo and there is no vacuum line. Moving on with my vacuum leak! Thanks for all the help to everybody and hope that one day I can return the favor and be useful!
  7. OK! Turns out that the braking system I have on is the Teves Mk 02 ABS. Apparently this system is completely integrated, therefore I dont have the disc shaped brake servo.   8. I looked and I just can't find it. I now that this must sound silly. I mean, it's a huge disc shaped black metal thing how hard could it be to spot :bonk:. But I just can't find it... Does anyone have a pic or be more specific?
  9. You are right regarding the white hose that goes to the throttle body. Actually that is the only thing that makes sense. The blue hose is probably form the EGR which is more likely deleted. That is why is blocked. I do have the blue plug on the emission test pipe What amazes me is that I am missing the brake servo vacuum hose. I now that this my sound silly but I can't find the brake servo. Isn't it supposed to be behind the ABS pump? Can somebody tell me where is the brake servo located on the car (bare in mind that my corrso is LHD) ?
  10. Ok! After comparing you're information with my setup I am even more puzzled. So I think this is the valve (no. 11) [ATTACH=CONFIG]96558[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]96560[/ATTACH] One hose (the 90 degree one) is there. The blue silicone hose is probably the EGR one (which is blocked with a screw). The second one goes goes the intake. Now, the valve on my car does not seem to have a plug for the hose that goes to the brake servo. Does this make any sense?

  12. Hi guys! I was looking for some vacuum leaks yesterday and discovered that my airbox was missing a hose or a cap. Looking thru a diagram there should have been a cap here: [ATTACH=CONFIG]96552[/ATTACH] On my airbox is just a hole Could this be the cause of my vacuum leak? Tanks!

  16. Hey guys! I have a problem with a vacuum leak on my 2.0 9A and when checking the vacuum hoses diagram I noticed that I am missing the check valve all together. There is just a hole to where the check valve hose should be. Could this be the reason why I have a high idle (1200rpm constantly and with no fluctuations)? [ATTACH=CONFIG]96520[/ATTACH]

  18. Should I replace the wire completely or just cut out the burned part and replace the plug? I don't seem to find details regarding this wire to replace it: size, length... All I managed to find is that the positive goes to the alternator. I managed to find some images with the connectors. Is the purple thing... the release plate? In what direction do I pull it?     Hi guy's! Having the same issues. I tired 3 isv control modules, Including a brand new one. I don't understand what sensor you are mentioning in the post above? I am so tired of buying isv's.
