  2. For sale - my late uncle's pride and joy his VR6 Corrado in Midnight Blue. He was the second owner, the first owner sold it in to him after 8 months in 1993. The car has 103k miles on the clock. The dash was swapped out due to a fault at around 40k miles and this was noted and stamped in the log book, hence the mileage is currently showing as 62k miles. Bodywork including the original paintwork is in good condition for a car of this age. There are a few minor scrapes and chips. A mechanic has checked under the car and given the bodywork the once over and has advised that it is in really good condition. There are a few small spots of corrosion on the wheel arches but would be easy to fix. The interior is apparently very rare with Recaro cloth and leather electric seats. He didn't have any kids so the back seats have never been sat on. The front have some wear and tear on the leather but have been told this can be easily refurbed.

The car was serviced regularly by Agnew's in Belfast and has a comprehensive VW service history. I have put a new battery in the car and it is starting and running smoothly. The electrics seem to be working well - the electric seats and rear spoiler are working as can be seen in the photos. The ABS light is staying on when the car is started. The car has a Laserline Thatcham immobiliser with two electronic keys.

The car was MOT'd up until the end of 2013. Unfortunately due to ill health my uncle was unable to drive it after this so it sat under his car-port without being driven for the last 6 years. Having sat for a period of time, the car does need some TLC. A good service, and any of the perishable parts are likely to need replacing. Wheels and tyres seem in good condition. The car is currently SORN.

My uncle would have loved the car to go to an enthusiast who can enjoy the car as much as he did. The car is in Bangor N.Ireland and would be a great option for someone looking for a project to take on. £5950 ONO. Please feel free to get in contact on 07713 741 490 for details.

  5. Hi chaps!

I am a hardware engineer working as support engineer in Motorsport industry. More than half of the F1 grid gets support from us. It is quite interesting job and a bit stressful :D

I forgot to mention the continuous non-paid overtime and the customer calls with emergency issues to tackle now (even if your leaving the office with your coat in the hands... even if you are on holidays and you are in a meeting with family and friends...)

I have been thinking to go back to audio industry where I was in an office with full product cycle design and with no customer interaction at all...

  6. According to some members, its the headlight switch that causes the ignition and the fire. There is a mod to minimise this issue and its something that will do to my future corrado. :)

  7. Hi all,

I have registered to this forum as I am willing to be a rado member (again). I always loved the vw corrado as it was one of the bests cars of the market when I was a kid. Of course you can get better cars if you get Porsche, top spec Mercs etc. but at that time not everyone could afford a corrado. It's shape,vr6 engine, the sound, the active spoiler... it was a dream!

In 2012 I bought a 16v 70k miles unit and it was amazing. I was really happy. Unfortunately the car got scrapped as it got burned while I was driving it. Still I don't know the cause but my corrado experience ended that day.

7 years later, here I am, still remembering those days and starting to look at the market to get a good vr6, I waited for 7 years and hence, I can wait a bit longer to find the right one. In the meantime, I will be around here, reading you guys. Hopefully I can meet some of you soon in the following meetings :D

    Have a nice day!

    Fran

  8. Hi Nick, could you please give us some info about the car? I think that would help you to sell it and you will save some time answering the same questions again and again :)

    has the car FSH?

How is the body/chassis? any corrosion?

Has the chain and tensioner done?

It looks quite nice to be honest.

    Cheers,

    Fran
