  1. Phatvr6 - do you have a web site (or contact) for Helix as a quality FW is next on my list. Thanks mate. 8)
  2. Whao - mechanic type questions  so I may be wrong here....... I understand that the 268's are 225 degrees and if you get a BVH these provide more benefit (obviously I suppose). I also understand the inlet are 41 and exh are 36 as you say or 2mm more than standard - again I may be wrong. I was hoping for around 220bhp with a small increase in torque & I have also heard its a good combo but as you say, we'll see.
  3. Thats one very very nice C. 8) I will only be missing the GF TB on mine from that spec which I cant quite afford yet. I'm at 195bhp/torque at the moment on Stealths rollers (on one very hot day after the car had been running) so that output would be amazing - cant see me getting that much torque though ! Is there no-one else on here with a BVH from shrick or TSR? Sorry to hijack the thread !
  4. Will do. I already have the VSR and I have heard that the BVH and 268's go very well together - cant wait :D :D :D :D
  5. Hi Tom My vr (golf - OBD1) is in @ stealth in 3 weeks to have the schrick BVH & cams fitted - so I will have a spare head available at Stealth if it helps you. I'm guessing that the head is the same for 2.8 & 2.9 ? :?: Apologies if I'm being stupid. Cheers
  6. Thanks for the invite but car out of action until I get it to Stealth so will have to miss it :( :( :( :(
  7. Hi Yep - Vince did the install of the VSR with a UniChip so chipping is no probs. Dont have the dollar for the AMD BBTB at the moment although I am sure it will help the big valve head and cams (maybe later in the year). They are Schrick as well and the cams will be 268's although I need to speak to Vince re. this. My only gripe with the vsr is the engine feels flat after the switch over so I hope this will give the 'urge' it needs - maybe this is not be as bad on a 2.9? I am thinking about the gearing as a longer term plan now and a diff is certainly the way to go but this is one for next year now! (hopefully) Will let you know how I get on but I cant get booked into Stealth until sept as they are so busy. :( Have checked the vr6golf forum but not posted. Thanks for the positive reposnes - have you guys got a rolling road bash planned this year?
  8. The G60 gearing is quite a bit shorter than I expected (& the 3.3 vr box). Should make a difference to the acceleration, although I dont want to go too short with the 3.94 although I bet its nuts. Looks like im in at Stealth in Sept for a big valve head and cams so looking forward to that. Cheers for your comments - will post pics when I get them. :)
  9. Just thought I would say hello on here as it seems to be one of the most informed and chilled out forums for VW's. I own the poor relation to the C – a mk3 golf but its not too bad being slowly modded to my liking. I wanted a C VR but would not pay the price asked for low mileage cars so I hope you don’t mind posting on here! :? Mods so far: - Mk4 lights / crystal repeaters / M3 rear lights, Eibach front/rear AR bars, Eibach lowered springs, Koni TA front/rear dampers, Vibratech engine mount, Poly rear bushes, 17" RS4 style alloys, Jetex Exhaust, CDA air intake, VSR Maifold & re-map @ stealth :D Next to go on: - AMD Big Bore TB - Lightened flywheel & crank pulley (read that this is a good mod) Considering one or more of the following later in the year: - Schrick Cams - G60 3.6 final drive - Big valve head (don’t think its worth the expense) Also, can any g60 owner tell me what speeds you can get in each gear? Cheers.
