  1. Yeah its a box  , When i had my VR6 golf i thought it was running rich, but sadly not just eating fuel, the rado was much better, about ten miles per £10 of fuel more.

As for the carlton, the bodykit is the worst in getting as if you have a front end smash, you might not get a new bumper as the lotus carlton is wider if i remember correctly, so nothing else will fit :?

  2. on the FTO one, i had a race at an FTO owners meet with a bloke in a gr manual and a gpvr both new shape or facelift 97- models, and mine was a 95 gr tip, and neck and neck up to 100 all of us, so there aint that much difference between them, i was suprised but you can do 80mph in second in the tip models. and the gearboxes are good just takes a bit f time learning about the best times to change gear (in tip mode that is). has yours got the sunroof and rear wiper etc, and is it a sport package model i.e. 16" alloys, front fogs, side skirts and boot spoiler?

  3. did mine at 100k along with the tensioners, head gasket, piston rings, valve stem oil seals etc etc etc etc, umm no sex for me for a year  , lovely person before must have taken good care to make sure she warmed up properly

  4. I have an FTO GR as well, and i had another GR a while ago, both tips but could not find a decent manual and i did not think there was much difference to be honest, manual is better though, and plus a synchromesh in reverse! i would think the vr6 rado is just as good as the FTO perhaps event better on some bits and the power when you hit 4k in the vr is much better than the FTO standard. oh get a blitz air filter and a HKS exhaust, they really let her loose. Top speed though i only got 130 and that was pushing her hard with lots of runway left (delimited FTO as well), but the gearing is good, just not enough power, and torque is pretty poor on them standard. My vr rado had 155 on the clock so not too bad and was still inching the speedo up, but she has gone now so ive got a golf vr6 (plus an FTO) which ive got 140 out of but thats scary in a golf as the suspension is not brilliant yet.

The FTO is a lovelly shape but i actually am prefering the rado more and more, still getting another supe in a year though but keeping the golf as well

  5. i bought my VR6 lowered and it seem to hit the exhaust when i go tight round corners, as its the standard exhaust and runs over the rear beam can you get an aftermarket one to run anywhere else? and has anyone else had this problem? cheers :D

  6. right the problem seems to be with the alarm, i have striped it all out and i was told that the alarms are often faulty or does not work properly if the c/l is left the same, so they cross two wires over to get it to work right (something to do with the closure part of the alarm), so this narrows it down a lot but still cant find where they cross the wires as they tapped into them on the doors but nothing else anywhere. anyway having a new alarm fitted next week so i can let him sort it  , what a arse pain  but all to be sorted now

  7. Right the central locking has never worked on the drivers side handle, took it out and found there was no wires there as there should be, so got a new one from VW (ouch) and pluged it in and still nothing but it sometimes does lock all the doors (but only on occation) i have tried the handle on the other side and its fine but still does not work on drivers side. The previous person to do it left the wires dangleing down in the bottom of the door, is there a fuse it could have blown or anything? any help would be brilliant cheers

  8. This has probably been done before but just wanted to know if there is anything important with these, i am changing the drivers side as the three wires have not been conected when the previous owner changed the handle over (diff key as well), i have pretty much had it out anyway but can the locks be changed i.e. passenger side one fit drivers side (lock only not handle), cheers

  9. Hi to you all, i have just got my VR6 and am loving every minute with her, truely excellent car. Its a 1994 Metalic grey (not sure excactly on the colour yet) VR6, with 107k on the clock and in pretty good condition. Ihave had a few cars now including a mkiv supra SZ a Mitsubishi FTO and quite a few others along the way, but i feel the VR is about the best of the bunch so far.
