  1. Hi All, below is the full text from the C&C advert.

    86k miles
    12 Months MOT

For sale is my early VW Corrado 16v which I have owned for since March 2018 and covered approx. 10k miles. This is my 5th Corrado I have owned and I have been both a Corrado forum and club member. The car has had a significant amount spent on it, in great condition, drives great, low mileage and in a rare desirable colour.

Over my ownership the car has had some upgrades/ modifications to keep an OEM+ look with many of these and servicing/ work being done by Corrado specialist John Mitchell Racing (JMR) and VW specialist The Phirm, which I have all the receipts for.

The car passed it MOT in January 2024 with no advisories, the engine timing was also checked and set up correctly.

    Exterior
    • Bodywork is very good condition for age.
    • In 2018, the front end was re-painted including the bonnet and front bumper so these are free from stone chips.
    • In 2023, the bottom of the front wings and front & rear of the sills were treated and repainted and are free from rust.
    • Rear spoiler operates both on the move and by using the switch.

If I’m being picky there are a few areas of the bodywork that would need attention to make the car perfect:
    • Sunroof panel has a very small rust patch (this has never got worse since owning the car).
    • Small dent on passenger door (size of 5p piece)
    • Very small area of paint starting to bubble around the rear number plate light holder (again this has never got worse since I’ve owned the car).

    Interior
    • Interior in very good condition.
    • Original first aid kit and warning triangle in rear centre arm rest
    • OEM Corrado black carpet mats.
    • Original OEM Blaupunkt Atlanta headunit.
    • Sony XS-A1027 4” 2 way speakers fitted under original front speaker dash grills
    • Alpine SXE-46255 4x6” 2 way speakers fitted under original rear speaker grills.
    • Both door membranes have been replaced in my ownership.
    • Original parcel shelf intact.
    • Heater works on all 4 settings and blows hot/ cold. Air vent repair kit fitted.
    • New original supplying dealer sticker in rear window.
    • MFA works as it should.

There are a few areas of the interior that would need attention to make it perfect:
    • Passenger side window switch doesn’t work, this never bothered me as the window works from the double switch on the drivers side. The passenger side window is also a little slow going up and down.
    • Sunroof panel needs re-trimming on the inside.
    • Drivers seat lower bolster is starting to show some minor wear.
    • Sunroof tilts but doesn’t slide – common Corrado issue, this has been like this since I have had the car, the plan long term was to investigate this at the same time as retrimming the interior panel and painting the outer panel but it never bothered me so never got round to it.

No timewasters, test drives will be accompanied and only with proof of insurance. Questions welcomed, please call or message. Only selling due to move on to a new project car.

  4. Thanks both

Car is on AP shocks and springs so nothing fancy - drop is about 40mm, it also has KW spacers which really help with the stance.

BBS are the standard G60 RZ wheels so 15 x 6.5.

Had to move from a 90mm to 50mm splitter when I had the suspension done though as it was scraping all the time.

  5. Hi All

I am after a new fuel pump relay for number 67 (857 951 253) and need some help (I have tried the search). Car is a 1.8 16v KR. Pics below of one I need.

It looks like I can use any of relay numbers 67, 80 or 167, is that correct?

Also where is the best place to get them? I cant find any OEMs ones are they NLA? Heritage and others have options and their plenty of used on ebay.

Any help or guidance would be great.

Popped along to the Scramble! on Saturday and saw quite a nice clean 16v in the pre-90s car park.

Anyone on here's? Not sure what that colour is, but don't think it's that common.

Good event overall, anyone else make it along?

    This is me!

Colour is Blue Pearl, quite rare as I think it was only available on early cars. I also think its the colour seen on Golf Rallye's quite abit.

Really good event, great venue. I was there on the Saturday and wasn't too busy. Spotted another Corrado in the main car park on the way out but didn't get a picture.

  7. Hi All

I have tried searching and also looked through the original service manual I have but can't find the official recommended age and mileage change for the cambelt on a 1.8 16v KR?

Does anyone know? I assume 4 or 5 years and what mileage?

Mine was done 4 years ago but less than 5k miles have been covered.

    Thanks

  8. Hi All

I am missing what I presume is the clip that attaches the airbox to the engine bay to stop it moving around (area circled on the picture), any ideas where I can get one? or can I just use a cable tie?

This is not the clip that holds the airbox together (to the left of the circle), I think this is this part for that but not the one I need.

    Thanks

  9. Hi All

I have a Milltek resonated system on my 1.8 KR, from the 1st silencer back, fitted a couple of years back.

Now, the front silencer and downpipe have seen better days, I have attached an image of the section I mean.

There doesn't seem to be many options for replacement so any help/recommendations would be great.

    Thanks
