Upon starting my VR6 revs go from 500ish to 1500ish continually at idle. Then, when I drive her this continues but only whenever I come to a halt. The battery light is also flickering (brand new battery so no problem there) when the revs drop to 500 and she stalls constantly. Any ideas before I let some halfwit grease monkey loose on her???

Muchos gracias to all who took the time to reply. I'm running her with 36 front and 32 rear and the difference is amazing. Was on 29 front and back. Thanks again lads!

My corrado has 215 35 18 Nakangs. I'm just not sure how to work out what the correct tyre pressure. Is there a formula I can use to work this out or does anyone actually know what the correct pressure is for these tyres? Any help would be fantastic. Cheers.

Thanks very much for the help lads!

Can anyone tell me where the fuse box is on my VR6? I need to locate it as both of my electric windows aren't working and as I think it would be too much of a coincidence for both motors to have gone simulatneously I'm starting with the electrics. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks. Jonester

He fitted the cat and it passed with flying colours so I've finally got my mot certificate! Whoopeeee! lol It actually failed on the C02.
-
He checked all that, said it's deffo down to the cat by pass.

Never mind the car I wanna live where you live!

I should add that the reason this has come to light is that my recently acquired VR6 has just failed it's mot on the emissions test. The engine was only rebuilt 3k miles ago and is in tip top condition hence me having a new cat fitted today. Can't get the bloody thing taxed till then so I'm itching to get my hands on the little beauty and have some therapeutic acceleration. lol

Hi, I'm not electrically minded so i'd be getting an auto sparky to fit mine, will this be straightforward with your kit or is he likely to suck air through his teeth and say 'big job this mate'? lol Cheers.

Apparently the plonker I bought mine from had the cat removed which has only a negligible result and is therefore completely pointless i was told today. Soooooo, can anyone tell me where i can get a new cat from and how much can i expect to pay? Mine is a K reg VR6. Thanks.

£10 for the ball joints??? Fecking hell, he's having my eyes out then. He's going to hook it up to the diagnostics and see what comes up on thursday, £55 for that. Just hoping this isn't the start of a very expensive journey that is owning a corrado. lol

I'm new to the forum and new to the corrado for that matter, so hello all. :D Now the bad news, just picked the corrado up from Bristol on friday after buying it from ebay (i know, i know) and today it failed its mot on the emissions (cat) and a worn bottom ball joint. My question is, the mechanic said it wil be around £80 to replace the ball joint. Is that about right? The main thing though is that amongst the dozens of receipts that came with the car is one that says the following: 1 VW GOLF MK3 CAT BY-PASS PIPE 1 VW CORRADO VR6 S/S LINK PIPE 1VW CORRADOVR6 POST 92 (BAR) S/S CENTRE SECTION 1 VW CORRADO VR6 POST 92 (BAR) S/S R/SECTION OVAL T/PIPE Can anyone tell me if any of this could cause the car to fail it's emissions test? I'm thinking specifically about the CAT by pass. Also, what does it all mean? I'm not mechanically minded as you may be able to tell (really? lol) so i'd be grateful for any help anyone can give me. Thanks. And what a great car they are.
