  1. :( :( Just got some bad news my car has been put down as a total loss. Can't believe it. Sick as a pig. Looks like I will have some Corrado goodies to sell very shortly.
  2. Too late about telling the insurance did that this morning good news is that their authorised repairer is going to fix it. New quarter to be fitted and he is also painting the door. As this is my second car I had zero no claims anyway I will just have to take it on the chin next year when I shop around for ins.
  3. Now thats what I call a dent :bad-words:
  4. Thanks for the sympathy guys. I cant believe somone would do so much damage and just bugger off. Anyways I live in the Cumbernauld near Glasgow if anybody knows of any good bodyshops please let me know.I dont want it bodged. Randal I feel for you mate I will try and get some pics of mine up but my quarter panel looks knackered to me. I did have some money put by for some nice 17" wheels so hopefully they can repair it as well as removing the bump strips and fit new door handles for me I do like that look.
  5. It certainly wont pull out I'm furious. No pics yet got to go to work (night shift). The damage is between drivers door and rear wheel arch it is pushed in so far it is afecting the door closing and panel is well creased and pushed up into a point. It is not looking good! Will need to contact the insurance in the morning.
  6. Some f***ing idiot has reversed into my o/s rear quarter and seriously damaged it does anyone know if this will right my car off. I seriously hope not it is my pride and joy...
  7. Thanks guys I will pull the door card off again and check the guides.
  8. I have been getting wind noise and some water getting past the seal on my drivers window. On closer inspection the window is not going fully up and into the top seal it is short by about 5mm. I have taken the door card off to see if there is any adjustment the only thing I can see is at the bottom of the glass where it sits in the mechanism there is a clamp that only allows left to right adjustment which does not cure the problem. Am I missing something?
  9. I do like the TSW's but not to keen on the dish. My car is a daily driver and I think the dish would corrode to easily with stone chips and salt etc.. The tyres supplied in the package are GT Champiro :pukeleft:
  10. have been looking into the tyre upgrades I was thinking of upgrading to Avons only an extra £40 is it worth it or just stick to the tyres supplied?
  11. Any opinions on the rims themselves would love a set of BBS RC'S but funds wont stretch And sorry yes it is a 4 stud 16v
  12. I am considering buying these wheels for my C. Was wondering if there would be any problems with rubbing etc. The car is not lowered at the moment but will be in the future. Will they fit on without any arch rolling etc... The wheels are et35 and 17" http://www.alloywheels.com/product.asp? ... &PT_ID=all
  13. Ended up going For Boston Acoustic FS50 componenets up front, replaced the rear 6x4s with JBLdirect replacement and an Infinity Basslink. Finished installing it all at the weekend and I am well pleased with the result. :D
  14. Hi Andy Not far from yourself actually just along the M8 in Glasgow. Thanks for the thread link will check it out.
  15. Thanks Yalan didnt realise the 1.8 16v manifold fitted does that mean the manifold that supersrint make for the g60 also fits???
  16. My manifold developed a leak and on investigation I noticed it is carcked and has been welded before. :( As the back box baffles are goosed aswell I think it is time for a performance upgrade. The car is a 1993 2.0 16v and thought it would be quite easy to source a nice 4 branch manifold and stainless system for it but I am really stuggling to find a supplier for the manifold. Can any of you guys out there offer up any advice on where to source a performance manifold for the 2.0 16v and also any advice on sytems would be great I dont want anything that is too noisy or chav.
  17. Thanks again JBOB for the advice and everyone else. You have saved me a few quid as well. :D
  18. I think I have came up with a solution http://www.audio66.com are doing an Alpine amplified 12" sub-box the SWD-3000 FOR £169.99. I have also sourced a pair of Alpine SPR 136A components for £100 from http://www.cel-direct.com. Any advice on whether I should buy an amp for the front speakers or just run them off the head unit as Audio 66 do a 2 channel ALPINE MRPT220 amp for £70 which is very reasonable.
  19. thanks for the info guys much appreciated I will have a rethink tonight and let you know what I come up with. JBOB is your g/f running the front speakers off the head unit or the same amp that is running the sub?
  20. I was thinking of going down that route JBOB but I have read on previous posts that I really should be putting components up the front with audioscape pods and that takes me way over my budget. The speakers I was putting up front are just coaxial speakers will this sound just as good with a sub box ?
  21. Shilakadaddy the 6x9's and shelf are coming in at £165.
  22. Please give me your thoughts on my propsed install I am working on a tight budget but looking for a much better sound than standard within a £400 budget. I already have my new head unit which is an Alpine 9847 r which puts out 4 x 45w. This is what I have came up with................. Alpine SPS130A front coaxial speakers Stealth shelf from Auto Acoustics Alpine SPR69LP 6 x 9's All driven by an Alpine MRV F340 V12 Amp which is 4 x 55w After a lot of shopping about I can source all of this for £350 plus my wiring and sound deadening for the doors. As I am a novice at ice installs please let me know if I am doing the right thing
  23. tattie Have been looking into the components I could just about afford the boston fs50's but was also considering the Alpine spr136a's which are considerably cheaper. Is it a case of you get what you pay for? If you fitted your speakers yourself did you have any problems fitting them or did they fit into the existing positions without any bother?
