i had something much the same, got booted, no income and a mtg and bills to pay. car is the last thing you need to get rid of mate. you will need it to get to interviews and stuff. just lay off the mods for a while. if you have to sell something and you still have stds let the wheels go or bits and bobs, you can always get a different set. but as you said finding a good one is getting harder. youll get there but dont get too deperate, employers pick up on that!!! take a few days chill out and check things out next week. just think it could be worse... you could drive a citroen saxo..... ugh!!!!!!!!!!

just under 174k. i was kinda scared buying a car with them miles but after you have one for a few weeks you stop looking at the miles.

dont change the colour mate it looks good in the flesh. rather than remove the bump strips go for a colour code, inho it breaks up the door and also stops you getting parking dents in tescos carpark.. will look better with the black seats in. have fun.

ok will do.. it a strange one it comes and goes at arount 4500rpm. also its now started doing it only in 5th gear at about 2500rpm. roll on pay day... im just limping it to and from work now... i hope it makes it for the rest of the mth.

nothing wrong with the camper mate.. just think the rado would look silly with a cooker in it wouldnt it! ive got a lot of time for them, i dodnt think i wll ever be able to shake the pull of an air cooled engine. its just something about em.

mine so far stands me at £200. it needs a fair bit doing to it though. im gonna chauck id say about £300 at it to get it right so by the time im done about £500 all in.. gonna invest in a power polisher and some t cut and see if i can get it back from pink to red.. chaper than a re spray.

this may be a silly question, and i may already know that answer. will a mk3 gti lowering set up work on the corrado, being as the front is mk2 set up. only asking as ive been offered em cheap cause he has just bought a set of coil overs and i cant afford them yet.
-
nice motor mate, looks like your doing much the same as me, in respect to getting a cheaper rado and doing it yourself as and when. the only thing that put me off of mine was 172k miles but then again its only a 1.816v and there are bucket loadsof them out and about. or even if it goes pop i might have a go at a 20v, who knows what will happen. im just enjoying the drive at the min, as long as it starts stps and gets me to and from work im a happy man. keep up the good work fella.

weedwhacker was just a ramdom thing in my head when i signed up. the wheels i have on at the min are 15" imolas. and lastly do you think the reg number is worth some money then. if so il sell it and put the profits in to the rado. got a set of lowering springs and shox to go on in the next couple of weeks..
-
funny thing about the number plate... its a G reg so you would thinh 89-90 .... wrong. on the v5 its a92. but it was built in 89..... do you think the plate is worth something then? sell the plate and put the money into buying nice new bits to add to the engine bay....

well the name weed whacker, i have no idea where that one came from, you know how it is when the screen promps you for a user name and your mind goes blank.. i guess in good at total random zhite... the wheels on it now are a set of 15" imolas, ( borrowed ) from my brothers garage.. well i did let him know after i had fitted em( a week later).. he he he. if i told you i realisticly swapped the rado for a ps2 and a dvd player i wouldnt be lying to you.. a little wheeling and deal goes long way.. all i have to do is get it running right, get the pink bodywork sorted out, and slam its ass to the floor.. then ill be happy.

hiya peeps.. this is my rado.... its taken a long time to get here but ive finaly done it, i have loads of history with vws... in the past ive has a passat, a wedge, 5 mk2 golfs, 4 sciroccos, and a couple of beetles. mrs has a newbie at the min but she can have that cause ive got my corrado.. it was purchaced on a budget.... and that how im going to do it up, bit by bit... im doing it that way basicly cause im skint,, also cause i want this to be my own car that i have done myself.. i have started with a cheap one ( standing me realy at about £200 all told) i wont bore you with all the details about getting here as itm reads like war and peace... but here is a pic of how he looks at the min minus the venom alloys..
-
so you think the fuel pump is failing under load then... or could it just be an in line fule filter clogged up. reason im askin is at the min money is realy tight until i get paid, and i dont want to fork out for leads and plugs and stuff now when i can get away with doing it later. im waiting for big stuff untill either edition 38 or vw action later in the year realy, can get bits a bit cheaper there.
-
no whining at all, strnge realy as she is good all the way up to and sometimes just over 4k then it sort of dies and splutters and shakes the car.. ony gets to me as im now driving like a grandad on a sundy afternoon.. got blown away by a max power saxo yesterday on the way home, pity as i couldnt give anything back for fear of being laffed at when the car started spluttering. never mind.. roll on pay day.

hiya guys, this is my first post on here... so ill say hi at the same time as asking a question. i have a 16v 1.8 rado.. it done 173k now and all is good, apart from when it revs over about 4500rpms in any gear it sort of misses and looses power, not the best for whipping past trucks on back lanes.. i havent done anything to it as yet, ie plugs leads ect.... it dies have some "hot wires" ht leads which i have a feeling are cheap shitty ones.. been told that the best ones are vag std leads.. i have had a few golfs and sciroccos in my time but this is the first rado ive ever had. is it just gonna be a matter of a good service and clean down, or could it be something a little more costly.. cool nice one fellas tony...
