I changed the oil pressure sensors, done an engine flush, put a vag oil filter on, and some syntax silver. No more oil light... Lovely.
-
Yeah Ive got a new sensor on order. Will give that a go. Is there only one pressure sensor?
-
The oil light on my 16v comes on every now n then. When you blip the throttle, it goes away. Car seems to run and go fine. Im hoping its just the pressure sender, but its got high mieage, and happens more often 1/2mins after Ive opened up the throttle, which makes me think its something more sinister like the pump. Anyone got any ideas?

I have a kr engine'd G reg, looks like the oil pump is on its way out. So i think im going to put in a lower mileage engine. Now I was thinking, could I just put a 2.0ltr block and head on the kr engine loom, ecu, gearbox, inlet, exhaust etc? Im assuming the later 2.0l rado engine runs different management, and would require changing the looms, and ecu etc... Ive got 12bhp to play with on the brentacre policy, so thought a 2.0l could be an easy option? But better than a kr... Anyone got any suggestions?

Only got the car today, so havent checked the fluid, think its got a spair belt in the boot anyway. My mates breaking a golf 16v, so I was hoping I could chav the pump from that...

The power steering judders quite harshly at low speeds, squeeks, and the belt whines. Is the pump most likely at fault here? Can I use a pump from a mk2 golf?

Cheap coilover, suspension kits and exhausts for all VAG
Philj replied to Philj's topic in Suppliers Forum
Update on the make... Guy from the lupo forum found soem info on these kits.... "After checking the part codes from my kit (60 VS 07) it runs out that these kits are actually identical to the V-Maxx Coilovers which are now starting to be distributed worldwide (visit the website HERE for some more info). V-Maxx is owned & made by B.V Hiltrac a large company from the Netherlands, who until now only produced suspension kits for other companies. B.V Hiltrac have only just started marketing these kits under their own brand (V-Maxx) although you will have seen their kits being branded under several names including Eibach, Weitec & FK Automotive. So far there seems to have been lots of positive feedback from different users of these kits all over the world, apparently they have learnt a lot from producing kits for everybody else!" -

Wondered where my post went then! Cant compare to fks, as I havent had either on a corrado, the guy who bought mk4 polo coilies said this about them though... "phil, dude, just fitted the suspension and am delighted with the result. where shall i start? erm... firstly, they are not that stiff but stiff enough not to rub and to take rediculously tight corners with ease. i would say the ride is muchos bouncier than my old highsports but the car stays firm through the twisties!!! i found the highsports very hard and my car was squeeking after 6 months or so..." The coilies dont fit the vr6 as far as Im aware, well they probably do, but no TUV for it. I'll ask about VR6 coilies, should be able to do them. -

The springs and shock kits brand is evo, but they are rebranded fk kit (like how venom motorsport kits are rebranded g-max) All the kits (bar cars with independant rear suspension) are height adjustable at the rear. So a 60/40 kit will go 60/60, or 60/80. 60/40 means 60 front 40 rear. Here are the prices for each kit available. Uprated shocks and springs, with adjustable rear ride height.
