Hi, I have had my 92 K plate G60 for 12 months now, and am getting sick of the fact that both my front fogs are broken. The passenger side one is basically brown now, and completely ruins the look of the front. Does anyone know where to get these from other that eBay. As they almost always only have the early type fogs available. £85 is just wrong for a 14 year old car :( Also I am considering changing my rear light clusters from the standard ones. Any opinions on which ones to go for. My car is Flash Red, with anthracite/grey 17" 5 spokes. Cheers :D

All cars registered after 1st August 1992 have to have a CAT fitted to pass an MOT. Mine is a K 92 G60, and it failed for not having a CAT fitted. The tester said "It would never pass an emissions test without a CAT fitted" Checked my log book. Registered 08/08/1992, a week to late!! Bought a second hand one off ebay for £30

The other week, I was driving over to my girlfriends house, when I noticed the engine sounding different, a bit crap sounding. :( Anyway, I put my foot down and noticed that my boost gauge was not reading any boost!! F*&K I thought, I have blown the charger  Anyway, the next day I looked under the car to see that one of the pipes to the intercooler had come away, and was not connected  Bought a new jubilee clip and fitted it back. Boost again :) When I looked under the car, there was quite a bit of black engine oil dripping from the bottom of the cooler, and inside the pipework. I know you get a bit of oil, but this seemed excesive. The charger seems fine, producing around 0.8 bar max (1810 on MFA) at 6000rpm. :D Also does anyone know what all the MFA test functions are. I know one is boost and one is instant MPG...Whats that counting one read? :?
-
How do I check these values. Is it done via the MFA check procedure?

Hi all, I have recently started to notice that my 92(K) G60 has developed a misfire :x It seems to miss occationally at idle (especially when cold). The worst problem is when I boot it. As soon as the boost gauge gets to around 0.5bar it misfires quite badly, and thus makes the car hit a wall so to speak. It seems alot worse when I run the car on normal (premium) unleaded, Optimax seems alot better. I have recently run out of petrol and was wondering if the injectors needed un blocking? Any ideas? Lee

I have gone and misplaced my locking wheel nut adaptor  Has anyone had this happen, and can a garage get it off, so I can get down Halfords to buy a new set?? :? Help :(

When driving along in my trusty G60, I have an almost constant knocking noise coming from the front. When I say almost constant, I mean when I go over the slightest of bumps. I replaced the nearside wishbone bushes a couple of months ago, and noticed that the anti-roll bar bush on that side is pretty perished :( Could it be this or would it be the offside bushes need replacing also? :? Cheers guys :D

The 35k has been covered over the last 2 years!!! The boost gauge I have fitted(TIM TURBO) is reading about 0.75bar at around 5500-6000 rpm.

How do I measure the diameter? Is it across the front(inc the lip round the edge) or will I need to take it off and measure it with a pair off calipers?? Also, is it safe/easy to check weather it is the original VW chip or not??? Ta

Hi all, I have owned my G60 for almost 12 months now. It has just passed 180k on the clock and still drives perfectly. The charger was replaced 35k ago which means its all ok in that department. :) What I am unsure of is if it has had the obligatory pulley and chip upgrade. :? The reason I ask is because the car seems rather fast for only 160bhp. I fitted a CAT(to pass the MOT) over the weekend, and cannot notice any lack of power. If anything its better,as the replacement pipe was always a crap fit (blowing allthe time). :( Whats the easiest way to check for these mods? :? Thanks :-P

Hi, I was just wondering which front shocks people would recommend for a Rado G60. My car currently has Boge Turbo shocks all round, and Ebiach lowering springs. The rear of the car seems alot firmer than the front. The front seems to bounce around pretty bad at speed on country lanes etc. Nothing too firm though. Suggestions please? :D

Hello to all. :D My K plate Rado G60 had its MOT today. It Failed becuase the lad who took the test said "It won't pass an emissions test without a CAT mate" :( When I bought the car last May with an MOT certificate, the car was not fitted with a CAT. There is just a pipe with an O2 sensor plugged into it. I have a Magnex CAT back system fitted. I cant believe that I am gonna have to buy a CAT at around £400+ just to pass the MOT. The car was registered on 11/08/1992 I have lots of receipts for work done prior to my ownership at Jabbasport. On one invoice even they recommend a new exhaust with CAT bypass to be fitted. :? Sorry to drag on, but I need to sort this out. HELP :?

Just onto the red. I wish they had fitted a warning light

I ran out of petrol today in my G60. I hate my fuel gauge  Even when I fill the car £55 worth, it still does not go all the way to the 15 gal marker. Is this standard for Corrado's, or is it just me? :? Merry Christmas
-
i know I have just put this in the wrong section? !!!
-
Hi all and Merry Christmas :D My K Plate G60 has recently been treated to a new heater matrix. I never want to do that job again  After a month or so, the blower now only works on the highest speed, anything less and I get nothing? Is this the resistor that has failed. Also are these units the same as the Mk2 Golfs? Cheers :)

My G60 tends to tickover at around 1200-1500rpm after being driven for 30mins+. When I check the screw at the back of the throttle body it always seems to work itself out. So I used to turn it in until the tickover was around 900rpm. This week, turning the screw seems to make little or no difference. Its just quite annoying sitting at traffic lights with engine revvin away, wasting optimax by the second!! Any other adjustments? Its fine when first started up?!

Yeah the old 2.0T was 204BHP in the CaliBRA and the Cavalier. That old red top engine was a good one. These days, the hot hatches are a bit luke warm!!!

Just lookin on the Vauxhall site. The Sri 2.0l 16v Turbo has 170PS. So probably about the same as mine, but mine's lighter.

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knew how much BHP the G Lader actually produced for the engine. I know it takes about 15BHP to drive it, but how much power would the G60 engine make if it were bypassed. Just bored and thought I'd ask.

I was travelling to work the other day, when a black 55 plate Astra was following me. It had an Irmscher front grill etc. and looked quite nice. 8) As the road opened up a bit, I thought I would give him a run. :x Floored it in 2nd, 3rd, and then into 4th. Thought by then I ought to slow down a tad. Anyway the Astra was just about keeping up with me, and I was pulling away by the time i went into 4th. :) As I slowed to let him past, I saw that it was a bloke from round my way, and that it was a Astra GSi 2.0 Turbo ( Not the VXR). Anyway, my car only has a Jabbasport Induction kit, and a Full Magnex exhaust plus cat replacement pipe, and its got 177,000 miles on it. Not bad. Anyone else beated stuff they thought not possible? :?:

When I bought my 1992 C G60 back in may, it had a stupid Rage exhaust system fitted with a Cat replacement pipe. This was so loud it was embarrasing. I sounded like a Chav with a PECO big bore on his/her Nova 1.0. I purchased a Magnex cat back system which is very nice to look at and sounds great. :) The only problem is that it keeps on blowing where it meets up with the cat replacement pipe. I have to keep on re-tightening the u clamps every week, and it is just becoming annoying. Also because the cat pipe is slightly kinked in its design, the rest of the system does not run down the center of the exhaust tunnel. Thus causing the clamps to hit the underside under mid to hard acceleration. Anyone else have the same problems???
