  1. It is a 93 2.0l 16V. It is the switch that is part of the door handle. It is internal to the handle.
  2. Hi All I know there is already a lot on here about central locking but one thing keeps popping up in lots of threads that is confusing me. Firslty my problem is that my central locking has stopped working from the drivers side. It still works perfectly from the passanger side of the car. Whats confusing me is the constant mention of this switch that is located in the door handle. When i have had the door card off and looked at the locking system it looks like the CL is opperated when the rod to the reservoir/ pump (not too sure about this) in the door is pushed down by turning the key. If this is the case what is the switch in the handle for? I had assumed it was for the closure. In my case with the door card off if i turn the key in the drivers door handle the CL will not opperate. However if i push the rod down gently the CL will opperate. As a result i assumed the problem to be in the reservoir/pump in the door. I suppose i have three questions:- 1) What is this swithch for? 2) Is the white plastic part in the door a reservoir or a pump? 3) Is this what is causing my probelm and how can i test this part? Thanks Adam
  3. I have the same problem. I take it that that you mean the window seal that sits on top of the door panel on the outside? If so i have removed this and on inspection there does not seem to be any metal showing through. The fealt is all still nice and smooth. Could it be something inside the door?
  4. Hi Guys I know this is well documented throughout the forum but i have a slighlty differant issue. I have a 2.0l 16V. When i bought the car i knew there were problems with the drivers side window as it did not run too smoothly. When i took off the door card to investigate it became apparent that some one had made a right f**k up of what ever they had done witht the motor and assembly. All the rivets had been drilled out but none replaced!! The motor was being held by one bolt and a cable tie. I spent a few hours trying to figure out how it should be held in and eventually gave up and put the whole thig back together. So basically i need to know is it possible for me to rivet the motor back in now or will i have to take it out to get everything back into some thing resembling the correct set up. Also i have not been able to find any detailed pics of the whole set up, does any one have or know of any? Sorry to ramble on but just really want to avoid removing the motor assembly unless i really have to after what i have already read!! Thanks
  5. Yeah. It is def the best looking colour they made!
  6. It is a 2.0l 16V metalic blue. All standard apart from 17" rims. Ill get some pics up soon.

Any way if i manage to get it back off the garage after the insurance have paid out ill let you all know as i would probably break the car for spares.

    Manuals?

Has any one got any suggestions as to the best manual to buy for a 2.0l 16v? I bought a copy of the bentley workshop manual on CD but dont find it useful for finding things or general explanations, but then thats not what its meant for i suppose. What haynes manual is best for this car or are there any other manuals i should get? Cheers!
  11. But if the fith injector is disconnected will it still be pumping?
  12. Sound. Cheers for the help!!
  13. how can i check that the injector is not always fully open. Is it just a case of takeing it out. Do this with the car running? Total new boy to injection fuel systems!!
  14. Sorry not making my self very clear. Imeant what is the best lead as opposed to just the convertor. There seem to be two differant types on ebay.
  15. Any one know what one is best. TThere seems to be two. One with a box in the middle of the cable, about twice the price, and the cheaper one is just a lead.
  16. They only seem to have the 16 pin connectors on ebay. Is there a convertor you buy or is it a differant cable all together?
  17. My 2.0l 16v often doesnt like starting from cold and more recently from warm too. It splutters and the revs rise and fall. It only lasts for a few seconds or untill you giv it a good rev. I have beem reading up quite a lot and it looks like being one of three things: 1. ISV 2. TPS 3. The 5th injector Any one got any ideas about which is most likely or easiest to rule out. All sugestions welcom. Cheers guys!
  18. Yeah thats cool got a good local V/A guy who likes the sound of good crisp notes. Cheers.
  19. Can a computer check simply scan the system for any slight inperfections or is it a case of interogating one individual part at a time. I ask as there are a few little things bothering me and i was thinking of getting a VAG check done but am unsure of the value in this. Any comments welcomed Cheers
  20. Are the rear ABS sensors on the hub the same as the front ones? Cheers
  21. Where do i find my fuse and relay board and where are the ABS sensors? It is a 2.0l 16v 1993 model. All help appreciated.
  22. Mine has just broken and iv looked into that. looks to me like they have to be corrado handles.
  23. Any one got any idea what the wire does that comes from the outer door handle. Iassume it has something to do with the allarm but as i am about to replace the handle i would like to know exaclt what purpose it serves. Any input welcome. Cheers
