  1. Have been a member for years but haven't been on for a good while and after getting rid of my last Corrado about 5 years ago and going through a Bora, BMW E36, Passat and a Mk2 Golf i can't resist the urge any longer :D

Was planning on taking the MK2 off the road and dropping a 1.8T into it but the more I thought about it the more I know I will always be wishing it was into a Corrado! So the Mk2 is going and I'll be on the lookout for another C

Just a quick question though, I am probably going to get rid of the engine as soon as I get the car but is it worth looking for specific model for things like brakes etc that say a VR6 would already have??

Also, would prefer the later style bumpers/bonnet but if I find an early one are they just a straight swap? Should I hold out and just buy a later one?

Any help/info would be superb and it feels good to be back haha (Better when I actually own one though!!)

  2. I got a storm bonnet not long ago from a friend who bought a crashed storm :( for the engine (Really low mileage!!) and the rest was getting scrapped. There wasn't much left on the car and so he practically gave me it as the rest was just going to be crushed as he needed it out of his way.

Anyways, i was wondering how much is one worth?? It's in really good condition, some scratching but I am going to see if it will polish out this week. Fairly confident that anything that doesnt come out by hand, it would with a machine polisher. Can't see any dents. Its in the storm blue (can't remember the proper name??)

Was going to be for my 16v but I am changing my car  so I dont need the bits I have. Any help would be great!!!

  3. A friend of mine who lives on a farm, was driving his 205 down the country roads back to his house as he does many times a day!! But this night he fell asleep at the wheel. They reckon he veered (spelling??) round one corner, then off the road narrowly missing 2 hefty trees and he only woke up when he hit the water, Upside Down!!! Managed to get out with nothing more than a bruised ego!!! And even laughs about it now :)

  4. I am sure I have seen this somewhere on here but anyway!!

What has to be done to get rid of the side strips on the C?? Do they just pull off, screw off, etc?? Any help would be great!!

    Thanks a million

  5. love the curve the half open front/back windows make, how long did it take you to line them up?

    looks wicked though mate

It was a little trick a certian mad belgium guy tought me... there is actually a setting to open them this way... it follows the line of the car so well

Here's pic of my old Passat 1.8t from Deva Dubs this year!!! (Notice the windows  ) Only managed to put the A8 wheels on and fit a debadged grill and it got stolen

  6. Thanks for the comments guys!! Much appreciated!!

Took me the best part of Sunday to clean it all up!!:)

Needs a little bit of TLC, Rear arch starting to rust (The side you can't see, ha ha!!)

Other than that, going to lower it and get some nice wheels, although I have no idea which ones, keep it clean and smooth :)

  7. It's a 1.8 16v, the exhuast is a brand new standard one, just the tail pipe has a rolled lip. Has only been on the car about 4 days and it's coming off to make way for a full stainless.

Not many valvers left in that kind of condition - be kind to it!

Thanks!! The pictures do make it look a bit better than it is!! Just going to give a little TLC and keep it simple!!! and look after her!! :)

  8. Just spent just over an hour reading all 47 pages, and what can I say apart from WOW!!!

I have just joined the site as I used to have a Passat 1.8t which was recently stolen and i'm looking for a new car. Was debating between Mk3 or Corrado and this has made the decision a whole lot easier, LOL!!!

Congratulations, the car looks truly awesome and the attention to detail mind-blowing!!! Hope everything get sorted out with the front end quickly so you enjoy it some more!!!
