excellent excellent :) Keep voting guys even if the answer seems obvious, as I intend to use the information in the project report. dinkus, adding to it I think is the major downfall of the application. I'm creating a prototype version with only one car (the corrado) and one guide (g60 fmic install) as its a great deal of work for each entry. I am however attempting to make it as easy as possible to build upon at a later date.

Thanks for the poll addition :) xbones, the only way I could see this being popular would be for it to be totally free to use. Advertising on the website would be the source of income.

Well I'm finished. Its turned out ok, not great, but ok. The texturing on some areas has really let it down, I didn't plan the geometry very well, and as a result the windows didn't really work out. Unfortunately I can't afford to spend any more time on it, so I'll have to leave it there. I could make it a whole load better if I spent a few more days on it, but I really can't :(

Could a mod make this into a poll for me please? I've been a member here aaaaaages and I still don't know for sure if there's a way for me to do it by myself  lol

Hi guys, I’m doing a project for Uni, and was wondering if you could help me out by voting on my poll? I'm conducting a survey to see how many people would benefit from interactive "How to" guides covering the most common maintenance and modification jobs on your vehicle. The guides themselves would be web based and include animation, high detail photographs and where appropriate, videos. The animations would be based on a 3D model of your car (the guide would cover many different cars) and could clearly illustrate the location of parts, screws etc. by zooming in/out, rotating the camera and so forth. What I’m attempting to find out is if there is any demand for such a product to be created. I’ve kept the poll simple, with only 2 options: Option 1: You find the current media available (such as Haynes manuals) sufficiently easy to follow and would have no need for more detailed web based guides. Option 2: You would find interactive guides useful, and would use such a system (or website) if one were in place. The guides would be free to use, so please don’t consider cost in your decision. Also if you have any other comments on the idea, please post them Many Thanks, Chris

Turns out I needed to chamfer the edges I wanted to keep :) The windows are proving to be the most difficult for me, and I don't really want to spend much more time on this, so I think I'm just going to leave them with very little detail. There's also a few very awkward areas of geometry around the spoiler and mirror which don't smooth very well. Its by no means perfect, but at least it looks like a corrado!

Quick update on this... I've been working on another module the past few days so not had much chance to work on this, but just started again today. I've nearly completed the shell of the car - just need to finish the roof. Tomorrow I will get started on the bumpers/lights/mirrors etc. Not sure how long it's going to take, but hopefully it should be finished within the next couple of days. The main reason I've posted this, is to ask if anyone who has experience in 3ds max, how do I use the MeshSmooth tool, without losing the creases in the body panels? I've not really used it very much, so any help would be appreciated :) Cheers, Chris

Cheers Dan! I've sent you a PM :)

Thanks for the responses guys, I'm going to have a go at modelling the corrado tonight and see if I'll be able to produce anything worthwhile in the time that I have! I'll only be able to make a very low-poly model, but if it looks like the corrado, then it'll serve a purpose. rado-steve, cheers for that link, those blueprints will certainly come in handy. DanA, looks like you made a good start on that model, shame you never got it finished. Would it be too cheeky for me to ask if I could have a copy of your model so far? It'd be nice to have something to use as a reference, but obviously I know how much time goes into these things, so no worries if not. Cheers, Chris

No sorry, I meant as in a computer model - a virtual 3D corrado. I'm making an interactive guide to fitting a Golf G60 Intercooler :)

Does anyone have a 3D model of the Corrado? I'm doing a project at the moment which could be made a whole lot better if I could use a 3D corrado model. Not sure I have enough time to make one myself though. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Chris

Ah excellent, glad to see it back on the forum :) Your car made 197bhp @ Well Lane back when the FMIC was fitted. I always thought it had the potential for more power with the mods done to it, just needed setting up properly... wanted to visit G-Werks one day, however they're not exactly close to me, so it never happened :( Anyway, if I were you I'd do as Kev said and try having a drive of a few VR6's to see if you prefer them. Although the power between your car and a standard VR6 is very similar, they feel completely different! A mate of mine now has a VR6, and I love the sound of it, but it just feels far too tame in comparison to the G60.

My flat mate has a 306 Rallye (same as the gti6 but slightly lighter). My G60 was only slightly faster when it was making around 195bhp, as Jim said, only managed to pass him at about 80mph. Wasn't much in it. Raced him another time in my mates VR6 (2-up and a heavy audio install) and the Rallye was faster!

Hi Guys, Does anyone have any images of cel-shaded corrado's? It's for a multimedia application I'm making based on the corrado. Looking for standard cars ideally, but please post up everything you have! For those of you who aren't familiar with the term cel-shading, its images that appear to be cartoon or comic book style - like in the attached photo Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D Cheers, Chris
