I think it is time to present my Raddo... or should i say Raddos. I actualy own 3, from which 1 is a parts car, 1 of them is for sale (but i'm not really sure), and the other one is for daily/racing use. Bought my first in 2006, about 160k km, but it looked like it had 500k. Engine has broken piston rings, damaged charger, etc. Next year, engine was rebuilt with new 81.5mm pistons, and run 8k km without charger. After i've mounted the "big thing" (G60). For me it was a big thing because i've driven it only NA. I participate to drag racing here in Romania or in Hungary. With the first stage of modifications: -68mm charger pulley -RS outlet -modified gearbox -60mm exhaust -DIY AFR best 1/4 mile time was 14.791 in june 2007, 2nd place at Oradea airport, Romania, beaten by Toyota MR2 2.0 16v na Mods aproximatly 300 EUR. Second stage of mods: - SNS chip - Schrick 268/276 - Bosch Platinum WR 5 DP0 - OEM 228 VR6 clutch kit (from a 2.9L) best 1/4 mile time 14.360 in september 2007, 1st place at Baia-Mare airport, Romania, (The MR2 in 2nd place :grin: ) spent 600 EUR Third stage came in 2009 with: - Toyo R888 205/50 ZR15 - Ice+water charge cooler. Best 1/4 mile 13.970@160km/h, 4th place in september 2009, Kiskunlachaza, Hungary, beaten by Nissan Sylvia S15, BMW M3, BMW M5 spent 500 EUR I think that now it has aprox 230 hp.In 2010 i want to stroke it to 2.0 8v and hope about 250-260 hp. I run the engine with SNS chip and 35 degrees of timing in advance!!! It is incredible! But OMV Carrera 100 + Octane booster.

I've read some topics on Mercedes forums and realised that Eaton is crap... over 10 psi only heats up the air ... I'll stay with the G :)

I have a sns chip and it runs GREAT!!! very pleased, you can feel the difference.

I found on e-bay Eaton M65 but can't find anywere specifications about that... Is the m65 a M62?

I want to change the G with an Eaton ... problem is I don't know what Eaton would be best. I first thoght about m45 but think it's a little bit small, than found something on german E-bay M65. I found that the Mercedes M271 engine is actualy a 1.8L engine with diferent power output, with chargers with the part number A 271 090 17 80 / Eaton 307171 and m271 271 090 2180 / Eaton 307 960, and probably many more. The chargers with the part number A 111 090 09 80 / Eaton 206127 think it's from M111 engines, 2.0L and 2.3L. Questions... Is the m45 big enough or I should go with the m65... engine is 1.8L 8v with schrick 268/276 cam? How do I know wich one is wich (M45 or M65)? Yes I know that but it has to send some kind of signal to the ECU... :) can't use a stethoscope at 100 km/h :)

What kind of signal makes the knock sensor? Can it be measured? I want to advance the timing and need something to see the detonation level.

I have an ATB gearbox and i'm thinking of swapping it with a TDi gearbox that has 1st 2nd and 3rd shorter than the original box (this for performance in 1/4 mile races) and 5th is longer... higher km/h at same rpm. With this i'm thiking of an LSD to put all the power down. I think it will be the best choice... at least for me :)

When talking about exhaust diameter.... it's the inner or the outer diameter of the pipe?

The cars with low torque and high rpm have short gearboxes .....a honda crx has 140km/h at 7500rpm, a g60 has 140km/h at 5800 or something... (that's for 3rd gear) the crx compensates the low torque with the higher rpm ...

So wich will be the best compresion ratio 8:1 or 8,5:1?

I think stock is 87... at least i had 87 and now have one with 84 (centigrade)
