i know this is a pretty boring question, but do all corrado vr6's sound different when they are cold, almost sounds like a whining noise but disappears when warm, is there an advancing of the engine or a automatic choke that does this or is it just my corrado. cheers willg 95 vr6

your vin number should be in the service book but try putting the number in this link http://www.abvwc.org.uk/vw_vin.htm

-
just like to say 152 422 055k is definately the correct steering rack for a RHD corrado vr6 95, these steering racks have USA written on them which kinda sounds like it should be left hand drive but it isn't
-
think i meant corrado as well as twilight, looks more like i am typing with gloves on, do you know any thing about how many vr6 corrados are left in england
-
hey does anyone now if i have a rare colour for a corrarado vr6 as i have not ever seen another one, blackberry i have heard of but i think its a slightly different colour. colour code is LC4T had a quick look at the colour statistics and i think it only counts for around 2%, the dark blue was my favourite but i can't believe how many there are in that colour. incidently does anyone know how many actual vr6 corrado there are left in england, probably difficult one i know cheers Will 95 vr6

anyone know how much it is to get a garage to fit rears suspension bushes for vr6, feeling a little lazy recently. (total price including parts and labour) thanks ps just looked up the colour of my corrado and its called midnight violet - is this a rare colour as i have not seen many
-
don't quote me but i think the vw garage said the ZF is for a left hand drive, the one i have is XTR it better not be the wrong one - i hate sending things back!!!

sorry just read what i wrote - doesnt make sense!!!! so what i understand the 192 422 055 k, is a slighlty older rack ie from the golf/vento vr6 and has slight more lock, the 192 422 062, i meant so what i understand the 192 422 055 k, is a slighlty older rack ie from the golf/vento vr6 and has slight more lock. Its been a long day

thanks for the link, so what i understand the 192 422 055 k, is a slighlty older rack ie from the golf/vento vr6 and has slight more lock, the 192 422 062, the 1H2 422 061A is a C vr6 identical but slightly less lock. both will fit ? as well as PhatVR6 is there anyone else that has suyccesfully installed the gold rack. also how long an how fiddly is it to install - i am tempted with the instruction on the knowledgebase
-
hi i have just bought a replacement steering rack for my 95 VR6, it is from a vr6 golf/vento, i was told by my local vw garge that they are the same. can anyone tell me if 152 422 055k is the correct steering rack for me thanks Willg

just like to say adding the draft sealing strips and super glueing the broken brackets have worked a treat, i would advise and one with this problem to do the same
-
your correct i don't know for sure if i had a four wheel alignment was checked or adjusted but my mechanic is pretty good so i made the assumption he would check all four. it will be interesting to see if the mk4 fits in any way!
-
how much did it cost to get the steering rack done - garage quoted me £150 plus parts (£50 - second hand rack)
-
yeah i know what you mean, lets hope some picks up on this and says if there is an alternative newer more reliable steering rack out there
-
cheers for the input, the mechanic reckoned the steering is heavier turning to the right on stand still than steering it to the left, i sometimes think i can notice it but it is not much. The pulling got worse when i had the tracking done. but i havve this done again since and made it no worse or better. i thought i read somewhere that you couldn't adjust the rear of car for alignment. as for steering rack compatibility if it helps any one the mechanic said the following: seat toledo 16v vw golf/vento vr6 i have a 1995 vr6 by the way hence the vr6 racks
-
i know looking at a lot of topics there are a lot on corrado's pulling to the left but can you advise me on mine. - my corrado actually goes round sweeping bends without me having to steer - Just had the mot, and asked them to check the ball joints and track rod ends (all ok) - top suspension mounts ok. - Tyres correct (direction and pressures) all ok - had the camber then the tracking checked by a vw specialist (all spot on) suggestion from specialist - he has known steering racks to do this, may be worth changing. can any one help!!!
-
thought i would just add to the problem - the rattles have been amplified due to the fact 2 plastic brackets have broken. the rear plastic trim is in 2 sections, a larger one and a smaler strip nearer the window, it is this strip that holds the larger trim in place and it is this where the brackets have broken on mine thus causing the noise. i have now bought a tub of super glue and some draught sealing stuff, i will may well be driving a squeaky free sound proof car - well i hope!
-
cheers for the help chaps, the felt is what i thought about using next any ideas where to find it, girlfriend reckons sewing shop, Gum Gum i thought was the stuff you put on your exhaust, so do you reckon if i speak to halfords or someone they will give me that or would they knonw about the windscreen stuff you mentioned.
-
i could have moved it...... d'oh, one day i will learn how to use forums. so no more ideas for squeaky plastic panels in the boot then.
-
oh shoooot i just put this under the wrong section
-
does anyone else have the same problem as me, and that is it sound like i have an army of mice in the boot. with roads being a little corrado un friendly, the interior is starting to creak mainly in and around the tail gate. Has any one got any tips - what did work for me for a couple of months was to pack the area behind the plastic panels with sponge which worked a treat but the local shop is now beginning to look at me strangerly. cheers Will vr6
