Hi, been told that the sunroof motor & switch are burnt out. How easy a job / how much will it cost? cheers Simon

Right - looked a the 'excellent condition' VR6 &........

The ABS is the thing that is causing me to walk away tbh. Wheels / bobywork I can budget for depending on buying price but like you have said, ABS is an unknow cost till looked at. I recon that this car will be knocked on the head, can't see the price dropping much more & the MOT is due mid Jan as well. Simon -
Right, had a good look at the VR6 that I mentioned in my other thread. Nice owner, no trouble in having a good drive & look round but the car is not excellent by any means. Car drives well enough, engine feels strong, bo smoke, no chain rattle. MFA all works fine, oil temp held at 82 - 84 deg. Water gauge only just moved of the stop but temps seemed fine. Engine a little dirty but to be expected. Interior not to bad at all, all switches & electrics worked fine. All 4 wheels need referb. 2 front tyres needed & rears ok but don't match. Rear discs all rusted up, caplier grabbing 15% of disc service (1 x 10mm band) if lucky Both rear wheel arches scratched (parking injuries) 1 touched up badly, 1 left, not rusty thou. Rear bumper nearside scratched. ABS not working - owner thinks disconected 2 yrs ago but can't remember why. (he is speaking to the specialist who services it to try & find out.) Good history re servicing except no record of timing chain / tensioners being changed (again he is trying to find out) Stone chips on front, not to bad considering mileage. What say all of you? Price down to 3k ish now but with all the above I am at the moment walking away. If I considered the above, any ideas on costs? Cheers all, Simon

When I buy a VR6 (looking @ 2 hopefully this w/end) **any one else not to far from Milton Keynes selling one btw?** I want to keep it as standard as possible & resist modding it & spending loads of money (already got a Scoob & a Pug 1.9 that do that for me). But if say I have 1k to throw its way, where do I start? Brakes, handling, engine, bling  ??? I am not saying that I will & would rather put the 1k in to a better car but..... Cheers Simon

some great advise here chaps, thanks a lot :D . Spoke to the guy today & he seems genuine. Had it 8 years, loves it but needs must & all that so he has to sell it. Nick, thanks, will ask re above & do the checks whilst driving it. Mileage I am happy with as it has full service history to prove it & has been used on long haul Motorways for most of its life. the car is in West London, 15 mins from Heathrow so hoping to look Sat. Might be looking at this car at the same time. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33869 This chap has only had a short while thou & is selling as to small / needs 4 doors. Asking myself why he brought it tbh? Has leather thou but not the bee all & end all. Do any have Air con btw? cheers so far :thumb: Simon
