  1. Sorry to be dense, but I can't for the life of me find the Wiki page on Sunroof Repair! Would be very grateful if a link could be posted, Cheers all - maybe i'll have a sunroof working this summer!
  2. Hi, This may be of some help, I'll let you decide... I was having very simliar problems with my '93 VR6 until recently. It wouldn't idle from cold, was running very very rich (20MPG), and would stall and not idle if sat in traffic and getting hot for a while. After new isv, spark plugs, MAF and temp sensors there was no change (apart from better running marginally after new isv). The car failed MOT on emissions, so i had to spend some time on it. I changed the Lambda sensor (easy job surprisingly), and while doing this noticed that the signal wire on the car side of the connector was broken, as well as this the (knock?) sensor on front of the engine by the oil cooler had a split lead between it and the car. After fixing these the car flew threw it MOT and has shown none of the problems i was experiencing. Like I said, might not be of any help, but i know the feeling of having a problematic engine, and its worth a check! Nick
  3. Thanks for the help guys, I'm gonna try and source a pump over the weekend, then fit it next week, I don't suppose anybody has any experience in doing this? I've had a look at how to do it, removal of the top part from the boot floor is fine, and then it looks like 3 star shape headed screws forthe pump itself. The thing is the tank is nearly full of fuel, will this be a problem, or can i just go ahead ad remove the pump? Thanks for any answers, all help is appreciated!! Cheers, Nick
  4. Hello! I have a small problem, my VR has opted not to start! I think the problem is the in tank fuel pump, i'll explain... I had noticed that the fuel pump was making a bit more noise than usual for the past month or so, whining louder. Then today I went to leave work and alas, no start. The car didnt even prime the fuel as per norm, just turned over and over and no ignition, hence me thinking fuel pump initially. After the checking of relays and fuses (No 12 and 18 respectively) both were deemed fit. I then checked the voltage across the pump terminals in the boot (underneath round cover with 3 screws), when i turned the key 2 clicks (usual priming time) i got 12V for a second or so. So I am left to believe that the pump if dead. Can anybdy confirm that I have folowed a good checking procedure and come to a logical outcome? Dont want to go and buy a new pump only to find its not the cause!! Also does anybody know of a good (i.e cheap) place to pick one up? Or does anybody have one for sale? Thanks for the help! Greatly appreciated, Nick PS the car is a 93 K in case this has any bearing on parts!
  5. Hello! Some questions! Does anybody have any experience with leaking oil coolers? What does the assembly of the cooler look like? My VR6 is leaking fairly heavily from the cooler area, is it simply a case of undoing a bolt and replacing an O-Ring, or does anyone have any oil cooler related horror stories? Thanks for any help you can offer! Nick
  6. Hello! Does anybody have any idea what the torque for the nuts to hold the cam-shaft caps should be for a VR6 engine? Would definately appreciate a rapid response, engine swap in progress! Thanks, Nick
  7. Howdy, Just thought i'd sneak in my quotes, age : 22 NCB : 5yrs (started with a 1.1l mk1 fiesta, then polo GT) VR6 : $430 FC (sorry, no pound key!) G60 : $480 FC All with Privilege, try tesco, they were cheap when i started driving, and i insure by brothers car using them (lol, building up more NCB for when i get a 2nd car!) Definately glad my dad refused to put me on his premium, paying dividends now!
