What is it with that Turbo Technics Corrado? For sale again!
turbocorrado replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
the car was originally mine about three years ago, i bought it for a bend over and thankyou 1900 quid. it was mint when i owned it and i spent a fortune keeping it that way. however the head gasket did let go on me after a year of ownership and it took me a long time to get it running good enough to sell (problem with fuelling/ heavy pinking at full throttle all caused by a turbo fault) however the guy i sold it to, took it back to the technician that did the original instalation in 1990 and got everthing fixed for 600 quid. He then sold the car to someone on here. would not mind it back myself it was much more frightening than my now jabba/chipped g60. could not pay 4500 for a car that i only had 2k in though. if the cars running good all i can think is that they may be scared of it or cant afford the front tyre bills p.s the arches are rolled but only the rears i had these done myself but the car was a lot lower when i ran it. -
anybody watch the 911\ jag coupe test on top gear last week . just wondering if anyone could tell me the location of the beach to settle an argument cheers post de-capped-vr6storm

i bought it about a year and a half ago from an american soldier down south somewhere... he didnt really know what he had and i persuaded him to sell me it for £1900... sorry to upset you and the guy who bought it from me. the only pics i have of the car are the ones you saw on ebay the first time round before they were copied and used by the person you bought the car from. as far as major work goes the only thing i did was the head gasket... other than that it was a good strong car. i used to run it on 17 inch bbs rcs a must in my mind for any corrado.

bigger wheels do slightly effect initial acceleration(due to size not weight), however a lot of people have 17's on their rados and you don't hear them complaining. i shelled out for some 17inch bbs rc's, which weigh a lot less than the 15's i took off. your best bet if possible is to buy some quality wheels not some replica s****. hope i've helped ****edit**** swearing-vr6storm

cars fixed running better and faster than ever, no compression was a result of the car been stood for so long without the head on, and the seals in the bores diminishing. a drop of oil soon sorted that. also discovered what caused the gasket to blow. knakered engine mount caused plug to break off fifth injector, therefore when second stage of turbo came the extra fuel needed to rich the mixture was not getting there resulting in it running too weak and too hot. cheers for the advice...

how much were the borbets

seem to have bigger problems than first thought. decided to compression test the engigne again tonight.. no compression what so fucking ever in any of the cylinders. checked the timing again and it is spot on. next step i removed the plug in cylinder 1 and poured a drop of oil down to seal the piston (none of the pistons were touched when the head was removed) after doing this i compression tested it again and hurray i had compression in cylinder 1. not perfect but better than nothing. i repeated this process in the other 3 cylinders and tried to start it, but there was still not enough compresion. i then decided to tow the car to build compression and the fucker fired up. however it wouldnt idle and was at the least a bit rough, but i put this down to the plugs being fouled from the oil. i took the car for a little drive then back home where it cut out and would not start again. after pushingit back in the drive i comprerssion tested it again and their was next to no compression. also the engine was covered in oil from what apeared to be coming out of the side of the head. at this point i shut the bonnet and walked away. any one suggest anything

cheers i will check that too... i will be back if i have no luck

jimbo corrado i lve in leeds and have seen you about.. i once bought an omp strut brace for a golf from you about 2 years ago, and i am also good mates with the guy you bought your bottom end from. any recollections yet.. anyway judging duy what your writing you could be of some help to me. just blown the head gasket on my tt 16v corrado, put it together by the book, engine turns correctly but wont fire, got both fuel and spark... going to check the timing tonight. i know this may be a shot in the dark but if i have no joy do you fancy giving me a hand and lending your expertise.
