VR6 | Blue/Purple | Washington, Tyne and Wear, NE37 Price: £1000 Description: Due to losing my garage in the very near future I am having to (against my wishes) sell my Corrado VR6. I've owned the car for a couple of years now and really did fall in love with it. The noise, the occasion, the looks. And as such I spent a lot of money on sorting out bits and pieces, costing me a small fortune in the time I was driving it. However, and here come the negatives and the reason it is cheap. I stopped driving it over a year ago due to a fault that I just didn't have the time to figure out. I was using it as my daily for many thousands of miles and needed a problem free car to get me to work and back so it was parked up with the intention of getting it looked at when I got a little money together. The problems started when I had a local garage change the ISV due to it cutting out. Ever since that time it's run badly at idle for the first minute after starting and the fuel effieciency has been poor. I truly believe that it's simply another faulty/wrongly fitted ISV or the garage has knocked it well out of tune whilst trying to sort it. On the plus side for the prospective buyer, it got all new plugs and leads whilst they were trying it figure it out, so they're pretty much brand new! There's then the issues that have arisen due to being left standing for so long. The brakes will need attention, and this has caused the ABS light to come on (was fine before it was parked up). The tyres, although having plenty of tread, I'm sure will need replacing due to flat spots, and one no longer holds air hence is sitting on the space saver currently. It also suffers from a couple of Corrado specific issues, ie the blowers only work on full and the sunroof tilts but doesn't slide. However, the auto spoiler DOES work! Right, so after all of the negatives, there are positives that you'll see in the pictures at the end. The bodywork and paint are excellent! This car is visually stunning and surprisingly suffers from non of the horrible rusty arches or doors. Hence me not wanting to get rid or scrap it. It is just too good! It is in far better condition than my other, significantly more expensive, Corrado. It also comes with some very nice choice mods too. It sits on decent Audi Fat 6 wheels and FK height and damping adjustable coilovers. Momo team wheel and gear knob, samco hoses and best of all, a custom leather interior out of my other Corrado that I put in for a show, but am leaving in to achieve my asking price. I could do the car cheaper with a standard black interior that was in excellent conditon when I put it into storage. If I had the space to keep it I most certainly would as it's worth the small time and effort needed to bring it back to scratch. My time with my garage has unfortunately run out though due to my neighbour who's garage I am using moving away. Gutted just doesn't cut it really, as you will see from the pictures. In summary, I am offering a cheap VR6 that I'm sure will be good if someone with the know how gives it a little attention, the bodywork is stunning bar one scuff left by some inconsiderate idiot just after I'd had the front and both sides painted. A few pictures taken just yesterday when I pulled it out for a wash and a link to photobucket where you can find more, including the negatives mentioned: http://www.photobucket.com/VRSale All these pictures were taken just after a quick shampoo, no polish or wax, and I think shows just how good this Corrado is. There are some polished pictures in the photobucket album. I invite any interested people to pop down and have a look to see just how good it is for the money themselves and I will demonstrate the issues, and point out the great bits. It goes without saying really but I suggest the car be trailored away unless you live really close as it has sat for a long time, tyres and brakes aren't great and it obviously has no MOT or Tax due to sitting for so long. Car is located in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Postcode NE37. My number is 07891091674. Thanks for looking, Daniel

Can't make a decision.....what engine conversion to do????
VWRobboVW replied to mrbeige's topic in Engine Bay
A little off topic but, can anyone recommend the best company to fit my 2l 16vT into my mk2 golf? Robbo -
You would need another set of seats or tilting frames. Can be bought for pretty cheap though or use the corrado ones. When you have the 'frames' from reclining seats with the handles and mechanisms you can simply pull the foam and material off your good seats and put it onto the tilting frames and cut around the handles. Works a treat, have a friend thats done it and it's not too difficult and looks factory. I'm just about to do it to a set of recaros that i've got too, I bought an old set of recaros from an escort rs or somethin for the tilting frames. Hope this helps, Robbo

Neighbours woke me up to tell me!! Thing is it wasn't just one car, they've done my valver and the corrado too!! Took the headunit from the golf and just smashed the corrado window!! Alarm didn't go off on the golf because the battery is flat but the corrado alarm must've scared them off! sh!t thing is, the police have no fingerprints but the bastards had done 6 cars that night!! And the best part is, the glass place can't get the new glass in til tomorrow so they're sat on my gran's drive out the way looking sorry for themselves all night with no windows! I nearly cried when I realised they'd done both!! What a great day this has been, Robbo

Yeah, it was. Was owned by a friend of mine before the last owner bought it. I always loved this car so when I found out it was for sale again I was the first there to look!! :D Thanks for the advice too, i'll see about gettin it checked over again by G-Werks in a little while. I'm having too much fun with it at the moment!! Robbo

Thanks for the comments guys. I know where you're all coming from about the front grill, I didn't like it at first either but it's slowly started to grow on me!! I'm still thinkin of replacing it with a normal debadged grill though. I've heard some pretty bad stories about Jabbasport whilst browsing this forum and others and was wondering if they're really that bad. I'm seriously thinkin bout gettin the charger checked by G-Works even though it was only rebuilt bout 2000 miles ago!! Do you reckon I should? Thanks again, Robbo

Hey. Am new to this forum (mainly because I don't own a corrado yet! :D ). My problem is this, I am going to look at a corrado G60 on Friday that I am very interested in buying. The car was previously owned by a friend of mine (before the current owner). The current owner bought it roughly 6 months ago and has covered 1500 miles. When my friend had the car it was completely immaculate and had NO problems. Apparently it is even tidier now than it was then. However, my question is this. What problems could've occured in the past 6 months and what should I be looking for?? I'm pretty new to this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Robbo.
