  3. Hi people My lovely '96 vr6 auto has taken a liking to running at 100 degrees. It was recently in at a specialist vw garage, where it had the electric cylinder head water pump, the main water pump, and a leaking gasket at the rear of the engine was replaced, but it still runs closer to 100 than 90! On the open road it is fine untill there is any kind of traffic then its up to 100. obviously its using water, and it can't be good for it to be that hot, but the garage prettymuch said 'we've done all we can!' ......nice anyone got any ideas? the electric fan is working fine, and there are no obvious leaks. someone has suggested the thermostat, and i wondered if the box could be causing greif, but i was wondering if there was something that has happened to someone else ta
