I have a 16v rado a nice early mk2 & ime after some decent crosshair headlights and spots anyone know a good website to get them ?

is that 100 for powder coating them and refurbishing them ?

I get lost on this site m8 that red would be fine & yes it would be both front and rear calipers and carriers . what sort refurb would it be new seals pistons ? and what sort of paint would it be powder coated , polymer coating ?

was thinking of getting them done a nice bright red , i wouldnt want to spend more than 100 squid if possible .

Hi anyone know a decent & preferably cheap place i can take a set of calipers to get refurbished & powder coated . Ime in Denholme so anywhere like Bradford, Keighley, Halifax or Leeds .

yeah ive got some goodridge hoses on standby so ime guessing you can put on g60 rear disks aswell for a little extra stoping POWAH , anyone bother with the better disks black diamond etc or is a set of brembo disks as good as you need , also whats the difference between red stuff & green stuff pads ?

anyone ? do normal 16v & 8v disks work with mk4 calipers

Ime in the process of replacing the brakes on my 8v mk2 golf i have refurbed the hand have the goodridge hoses i have g60 calipers for the front & some mk4 calipers for the rear which are the best disks for the rear 8v 16v ? and do they work with the mk4 calipers also do i need any type of adaptors for the convesion or is it staight forward .

ile ive it a bash , got in he ado after a few weeks of driving the golf and i felt wierd ive had it for 5 years but it felt like a new pair of shoes if you know what i mean anyone had a similar experience ....

Does anyone know a mk2 golf forum thats half as good as this one , just after a bit of info and afew bits that are hard to find .

Does anyone know a good classic insurance company just bought a mk2 & its 26 years old so i wanted to get as many quotes as possible .

Look what i found kicking about2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf001.JPG[/attachment:33ntk5p9] Not 100% sure which is the voltage regulator002.JPG[/attachment:33ntk5p9] I think its the rectangular one says Germany 2.2 pf 100v- (0 290 800 036) on it and the circular one says (1197 311 021) EL 14V 4C made in germany 947 . They both have ladders in in a circle on them .

you guys are so helpfull cheers for the advice , pics etc . i cleaned the old one up and give it a couple of coats of hammerite spray and it fires up sweet but the battery light has stayed on , now ime pretty sure that the alternator if foooked , my m8 is coming round to give me a second opinion .dont you just love rados ......

no the solenoid would not be able to be switched there are slight differences between them & the wire is black and it has 2 wires going into one plug

ive had another go i took the new one off and noticed that if i cut off the locating clip from the red & black lead that it fits ok , now i have one wire left to find a home001.JPG[/attachment:1tkbg6qe] this wire origionaly fitted onto a spade conection but there isnt one and the worst thing is that the battery light is staying on so its obviously an important wire only thing i can do now is clean up the old one and hope for the best .unless anyone has any ideas :scratch:

the connections on the wires dont fit anywhere they are the plastic plug type , there is a place for some wires to go on the new starter motor but it would mean changing the ends on the existing wires something that ime not too happy about doing as i am not sure if it would work and not sure what you call the ends size etc .I have dismantled my old starter motor off the car and began cleaning it up does anyonwe know if there is a part number for the carbon bushes ? as changing this would prob solve the problem .

I just had a go at fitting a starter motor & i didnt realise the differences between the 2 until i had switched them .On the origional one there are 2 cables that clip in2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf006.JPG[/attachment:92773gh8] On the new starter motor001.JPG[/attachment:92773gh8] there is nowhere to connect the wires , ime not 10% sure what to do any suggestions ....

Is the g60 starter motor the same as the 1.8 16v ?

I have a set of g60 280mm front calipers & a set of mk4 rears ime not sure which type of goodridge hoses i need i was looking around and i have seen sets with 6 hoses in & also sets specificaly saying for mk4 rear calipers with 2 hoses in . Can someone tell me what i need and the best place to get them & also a rough price guide so i can have a look about to compare prices .
