Mate ! I have the same problem. Nothing to do with the brakes. The wifes raddo has been doing it for a while. We were told by the main dealer that it was a cv joint. That was replaced and the bugger is still doing it. The chaps on this forum are good one of them can point us in the right direction, cus I am stumped.

Due to the wifes raddo being driven and driven without any sort of attention its time we took it off the road and got her back to its former glory. Firstly the power steering, it had a new rack on 8 months ago but now the pump is making one hell of a noise. Is the pump common to any other veedub or audi ? I want to take one off a scrapper to see if that sorts the problem then probably invest in a new one. The steering goes heavy after a while. Thats the first issue...... one step at atime
