Anything silly like the single lead from the coil ? running on 95 ron petrol ? this has happend to me quite a few times when changin down gears.. she'll never start back up untill i have a little wiggle of the leads and smack the coil.. Its not happend in a few months so the last smack might of tought her a lesson..


  2. Be nice its my first post in this thread :D

     

    Right then guys the time has come and im finnaly going to ditch my g60 and turn to a nice 16vt setup :clap: The car is now officialy off the road awaiting a new motor.

     

    Since the cars of the road im going to have a few more pennies to throw at it over the next year or so. and thats where you lot come in, I need a List lol !!

    My aim is a reliable 300bhp+

    Now i havnt got money to throw around willynilly but ide like to spend money in the right areas and save in others.

     

    Basics,

     

    What engine: Can i use my g60 bottom end with a 16v head ? If so what head would you go for ??

    : Or should i use a complete 2.0 16v along with forged pistons ect.. Kr or ABF ??

     

    Big money bits:

     

    Turbo: Gt28rs ?

    Pistons: I dont want no spacer gaskets here lol

    Manifold: Now ive read your little debate around the 1.8t manifold, however im always on a buget so will this reliably take 300bhp.

    Management: could i save money here and stick with the g60 managment ?

     

    Now i know theres a lot more than that but i need to get the ball rolling otherwise itll never get started, im planning on taking the G-lader off the car next month to raise some funds to get me started.

     

    Theres shed loads ive missed but this is the start of the long journey ahead of me.

     

    If somebody feels the need to tell me exaclty what to buy to turn my g60 into a 16vt monster then go ahead :grin: :grin:

    i moved up to hertford last year though..

     

    Edit: Just noticed your newport edition logo, i used to go to the meets when i was back home went to ed38 07 with that lot

    Im guna mess around with the stance today, see if i can get it any lower

     

     

    i use a cone filter but that is soon all to change. im looking a nice little intercooler that should fit behind the grill so the pipe work will be a lot better. ill be losing the cone filter and going to a drilled air box..

     

    I need to get a vid ill try to sort something out lol


  5. Rolling to ED38.. great shot that mate, shame no sound-track though!

     

    Cheers john its the best rolling shot ive got, (only got 2 anyway) :lol: the sound may be changing, im debating getting a decat but worried about back pressure and all that. Ill have to have a word with lisa about it.

  6. Not much is going on in the world of steve, i lowerd the front another 30mm and fitted the camber shims before ed38, i think thats it really, i still want it to go lower, ive got hold of a home made arch roller so ill see how that goes on tuesday.

     

    Hopefully ill have sorted somthing with the interia over the winter, nothing crazzzy i dont earn enough to get leather so im guna lose the rear seats fit a false floor + rollcage

  7. sorry mate but i dont think its going to happen without flared arches, 9.5s are a struggle on the back with normal rolled arches,

     

    i supose it depends on how low you want to go aswell, but imo if you dont go low itll look gash anyway.


  8. Im no offset geek but you should be fine fella, my fronts are 9s with et 18 yours are 8s with et 15, so mine are an inch wider and stick out 3mm more.

    the only rolling my front arches have received is what ive managed to bend with my fingers.... You shouldnt have a problem

  9. havnt updated my thread in a while !!

     

    back a couple of months ago i replaced the big suitcase style box with a bypass jobbi, sounds the nuts now and maybe a little more responsive. Might be to loud for some of you but i like it any who lol. The charger cost me 400 big ones over the winter but that should be good for a couple of year or two :confused4:

     

    Ive also got a set of new wheels !! the keskins were in a pretty tired state and ive always fancied Th lines sooo here they are ....

    Ill be ordering a set of camber shims this week and gettin the front arches rolled, so it should go lower. :D
