  1. Oh I knew it was coming.... just not that quick!!!
  2. Smacked the sump on a drive out today..... fortunately only cracked it, but my 6 litres of synta is pouring out of the bottom :censored: Time for a mk5 R32 one then!!! Plus side is its soaking the block paving outside work with oil, and not my drive!!!!
  3. [youtube:3mnnn8vr]bZ9Pc5rvgHY[/youtube:3mnnn8vr] Quick drive around the block with my brother
  4. Can you guess which one I hadnt cleaned
  5. Well today Ive been hard at work cleaning again! My mate matt has mopped the whole car too, and removed *most* of the lines in the lacquer where the side trims were removed.... the other side is going to need some bodyshop attention at some point, can get the dent in the door sorted then too. Ive been rigorously cleaning the inside of the car, as it had got a bit mucky whilst we had been working on it... but was never that clean ever since I bought it to be honest(bloody grey everything...). The first major acheivement was cleaning the headliner and sunroof cover, I used some MPC floor cleaner thinned down 3 parts water to 1 MPC in a spray bottle... scrubbed it in, and left for 5 minutes, then wiped off with a clean cloth rinsing occasionally in water. The amount of sh1t that came off was amazing, so thought I would treat the carpets in the same way..... sure enough the carpets are now spankingly grey, almost as it would have come out of the factory :norty: Hmmmm I thought to myself.... will this clean the shit off the leather too?... Sure enough it does!! Gentle application to the leather with a scrubbing brush, and all the scum which has built up over the years and in the leather cracks has come straight out  Following this, I gave all the seats a proper going over with some leather conditioner, and I have to say, Im pretty happy with the result. I'll get a before and after with the seats, its amazing how much crap grey leather manages to hide
  6. I don;t think Ive ever seen damage like that to a VR block. :gag:
  7. Well, I did a few bits and bobs on the corrado last night which appeared when i drove the car to BVF the other weekend. Firstly, for some reason the central locking stopped working just before BVF from the Alarm. We'd had an issue with the new door actuators whereby the cables werent quite long enough, and when the window came down fully the glass would pull a couple of the actuator connectors out.... Soooo I pulled the door card off and sure enough one of the cables had been yanked. Connected it back up and still no joy, hmmmm..... Whilst I was in there I also decided to lengthen all the cables, and strap the cable to the door properly. Still no joy I had to trace the cables back to the alarm unit, and for some reason the unlock pulse was not going to ground as it should. Anyway, long story short it was a dodgy butt connector in the alarm loom, replaced with a soldered joint and hey presto, works again! Next on the list was to strap the loom up properly across the bulkhead.... Ive done this using some nice rubber lined P clips and nylon nuts on the stock threads. I'm now happy its not going to fall on the exhaust!!! Next thing was to replace the coolant, as it was still mostly water from testing... easy enough, just mixed up some G12 and squeezed out all the air, simples! Thought I would also have a grovel under the car at this point too and take a look at where the exhaust was leaking... basically the clamp on the joint at the back of the decat was blowing, so took it off, rejiggled it and whacked some paste in there.. re-clamped and its a lot lot better(sounds evil with no cat btw). Still a few more things to do including... Working out why I get no turn signals on the clocks Fix the heated seats Replace the handbrake gaiter Replace the boot lock(the arm where the CL actuator rod attaches is broken) Reinstate the vacuum feed to the clocks so the MFA doesnt read 99.9... :epicfail: Wet flat and mop where the side trims were removed Replace a couple of small vac hoses Not a lot then! :cuckoo:
  8. Really like the look of this car mate, well done, spot on
  9. Cheesy pic, I'm the one on the right BTW.... despite Tom looking like he owns the car!!! :nono:
  10. hello. how are you? can you say to me one thing? how large are your wheel adapters in the front and in the rear? 20mm? 25 or 30? i´m also having in mind putting same wheels in my rado but dont whant them to to much inside the wheel arch. sorry for my bad english, hope you can understand me . regards They are 25mm all round mate. I'm thinking of bringing them out a bit more though. That said, I should stop firing money at it now as she is going to be for sale VERy shortly
  11. Nope, C2 downpipe, decatted and Powerflow for the rest of it!
  12. Might be a good option for clearance, along with a 50mm splitter.... might get away with running full drop then.... maybe!!! :norty:
  13. She wasn't looking her best that day though I must admit! :gag:
  14. Yes indeed. I don't run it that low on the road, it's come up about an inch or so for the timebeing. I'm going to be fabricating a metal belly pan to protect it as it's alloy, or of course I could put a steel sump on it from a VR. Would be interesting to see what the difference is with the 4mo engine as my Mk5 R32's sump actually sits higher than the stock VR one, didn't need any modding of the mounts and bonnet closes perfectly fine  I think its due to the shape of the manifold. If you look at the front of the 4mo, theres that large chunk of plastic which sits proud of the runners, thats where the bonnet ribs hit, whereas the R engine seems to sit more flush if that makes sense?
