Anything over 200hp and your into big stresses and strains on drivetrain.my intentions with the g60 will be that it has loads of low down torque perfect for what i want .That will be mated to an uprated gearbox with gear ratios to match the g60 powerband.close ratio 1st to 3rd and a cruising 4th for the motorway. im aiming for 0 to 60 in 5 seconds which should be possible as it weighs a bit less than a lotus elise.the lotus with toyota lump is 190 hp and performance rapid so if im in this teritory ill be happy.My covin at mo is doing around 7 seconds to sixty with 112 hp and has same power to weight ratio as standard g60.

well im not fitting a beetle engine for the noise or a porsche as it defeats the object.it sounds good with the 8v,but will be something else with the g60 fitted.the minor anomolies are no worries for me as it impresses porsche owners and you cant get better than that and i love it.

The kit originally cost 4k+.You can pick up a ropey one for a grand,four grand for a reasonable one.I paid 7k for mine five years ago and have it insured for 10k.These kits are very rare only 300 of the turbo coupe ever made.They are rear wheel drive.

COVIN WITH LATER 964 BODYKIT AND CLASSIC WHITE COVIN WITH MY FAVORITE FUCHS ALLOYS.JUST A NOTE THE WHITE COVIN WAS BUILT IN 1992 AND SPRAYED IN ENAMEL PAINT.YOU CANT USE THIS PAINT BY LAW ANYMORE BUT GOD IT STILL GLEAMS LIKE IT WAS RECENTLY PAINTED.

ok.a covin is a fiberglass shell copy of the famous 930 turbo of the late seventies early eighties.the chassis was made by the company covin which was a 4"x 2" box section with center tunnel similer to beetle.onto this many type 3 (vw fastback) parts where used.mainly front beam ,suspension,brakes and the same at the rear with also the gearbox.to this an adapter plate was fitted and a choice of engines were mated up to the vw gearbox.the earlier covins were bolted to beetle chassis.some people use the beetle aircooled lump due to less hassleto fit while others have modded theres to the max.one club member has fitted a porsche gearbox and 3.6 porsche engine with over 300h/p scary!

has anyone know what sort of wiring is needed for this conversion.the engine in my covin is 1800cc 8v dignifant.

can anyone tell me where to get a hall sensor for g60 at best price.eurocarparts dont stock them and vag quoted £100.

cheers,havent got mayo in cap ,smokes a bit of white on hard revs.what compression should they read from cold.engines done 140k.

did cold compression test.tested from right to left as looking at pic. 130==175==160==160 can anyone tell me what this means.cheers

Having same problem with my g60.fuels pumping ,but theres no spark.Thought it might be crappy imobilizer fitted.how much are hall senders.cheers

got avo coilovers in the back and it sits and drives squat.the front needs some now and need to reduce tyre size up front 235/45/17 a bit too much but were on car when i got it.most freinds who drive it are impressed.if you want a raw dive this is it,it posseses you,but its not an every day car.yea buy a 6k sc and have the same again to spend on it.id love an original turbo but havent the funds to buy or run one .ive no worries with this car and know i aint got no big bills looming.

its got basically the dash,clocks all door panels and seats.im after the electric sc seats as they really keep you sitting tight,john has them in his.the steering column is golf and centre console is fabricated so can fit few extra guages.the radiator sits in the front and water pipes run throgh center tunnel of car.
