Hello all, I have a set (front and rear) of Quantum mudflaps in original packaging and brand new, along with the corrado badges to go with them. Just wondered what they are worth as I can't seem to find them anywhere else to get an idea of cost. as I have had some interest in them. Thanks, Nicky.

Thanks all for the response, gives me a good reason to hang on to her for a while, having just had a mega service done on her and full engineers report showing she is 110%, the same engineer who warned me off of buying a VR6 (or as he calls them VR5 cos the 6th cylinder goes!) even he remarked what a lovely car it was and in such exceptional nick. I paid top whack for her but she is totally original and so solid, I would be hoping for in excess of 5k but it gives me the excuse to hang on till Spring, I don't think it's a good time to sell anything yet with Christmas looming but I've had some interest from people that have seen her around. When you look on ebay and autotrader and see what's around they seem to be giving them away, but as you say, a lot are well in excess of 110k but then I suppose as long as they have been looked after that's not a real problem, but the mileage will still show through in the interior and other bits. At the end of the day it's horses for courses, I wanted a low mileage one and the body/ interior reflects that, it's finding someone who appreciates that as much as I did and is willing to pay a bit more. :wink: Maybe we'll sell the Passat instead!

Hi all, I have been following prices of VR6's for a few months and am concerned that they are dropping in value, they seem to be everywhere now and quite cheap? :roll: I bought mine in August, it has very low mileage (genuine 74k) with full history and really is exceptional, almost concours (and will remain that way until I have to sell her) I am concerned at how little they seem to go for even in that condition? The reason I ask is that it looks like she will have to be sold before (or hopefully after if I can string it out long enough) Christmas as she is a third car, and we are moving, I really can't justify keeping such a nice car when there are things like stamp duty and estate agents fees to pay, besides which we won't have a garage to keep her in (she has led a very charmed life!) Is it just the time of year or do you think all the hype in recent months has pushed the prices too far? I'd be interested to hear what members think as I am having doubts as to what to advertise her for when that time comes :mad: Thanks in anticipation, Nicky.

Hi all, many thanks for all the advice on my battery drain problem. After much testing and scratching of heads, we got a car electrician to have a look at it, a barnd new and fully charged battery was completely flat within 2 days and getting beyond a joke! After a few checks the culprit was the 'Tracker!', seems they need new batteries every few years and as this one was dead it was draining all the chrage from the car battery thus setting the alarm off and flattening it. The wiring to the tracker was red hot as a result?! This has now been disconnected and problem solved. Wouldn't have thought of that one! Just thought it might be of interest, these cars seem to have a mind of their own!!!! Having now got my baby set up and 110% looks like she's going to be looking for a new home due to house move and no garage to keep her in, not to mention stamp duty :x Gutted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lol: ... I think mine must be female as she's a bit temperamental and hormonal at the moment. We have decided to call her 'Daisy' because of the battery problem (still under investigation with Volt meter!) because some 'days' she starts and some days she won't :roll: Thanks to jazzdevil and Toad for the invite this weekend, I have been following the thread for the 'meet, but we are away this weekend until Sunday so I'll miss it, sounds like it's going to be an awesome sight all those Corrados in formation :pirate: Let's hope it becomes a regular thing though as there seems to be loads of Corrados around here. Moonroof? Told you I was new to this Corrado stuff...is that the alternative when the sunroof packs up? I am thinking my VR6 may well be female because she is unpredictable and my husband has developed a sudden liking for fast cars (well this one anyway) that he never had before................................................. 8) so I guess my old Porsche was male cos he never had an interest in that, live and learn..........

Hi Inky, nice to have another lady Corrado owner on board, I sometimes think we are such a rare breed on this forum that maybe it scares others away, having said that I have put a few posts on here and have had nothing but really helpful information and tips. Without this forum I wouldn't have found my VR6 8) Thanks also to Chubbybrown, I did get them to look at the battery drain but the battery was holding charge at that time, maybe an alarm fault. But it's now defunked again after 4 days! I have another posting ongoing from which I have had really helpful responses and learnt loads, so armed with new volt meter I will go to work and hopefully find the problem. Best of all it means I have to use the car more to keep her charged, not a bad excuse :lol:

I'm sure that will come with what I've read, but have just treated her to a major service at a brilliant garage in Southampton and she has a clean pair of heels for a while (finger's crossed!) If anyone lives in Southampton or surrounds and is looking for a garge who can set up a VR6 and do 'what they say they will and a bit more besides' at a reasonable price let me know and I'll happily pass on details. Mine came back a different car, but I have learnt that Corrados don't like being left in a garage for more than 4 days at a time as my battery is dead already again!

Hi all, I am a female petrol head and have recently sold my Porsche 944 to buy a VR6 as i have always loved them and now old enough (groan) to be able to get a lovely example that has been well looked after. When I find out how to do it, I'll add a pic of mine to my signature :D I think the old Porsche was looking dated but I have to say the Corrado is timeless and I love it! if only I could sort out the 'battery drain' it has!

Thanks for the thought Tom but the car is very standard, nothing has been modified at all on the lights front I did check before I bought it, but a useful suggestion all the same. Dr_mat, getting the car serviced/checked out today (hopefully it will start?) the info you have provided is very helpful thanks. I will have to make sure I use the car more than once a week in future, will let you know how it goes and what they find today.

Thanks for your reply, very helpful, didn't realise they ran down that quick! The new battery came from a reliable source and we checked it was fully charged before putting it in, we charged up the old one and it has held charge since and that was over week ago so we'll see how well that holds up overnight. I've checked all interior lights and they were all switched off so maybe the alarm is draining it, have had this problem before with another car if it wasn't used at least twice a week. The alarm is a Scorpion 5000 btw and worryingly (although only doing it's job) was trying to close all the windows and roof even when they were shut because I tried to activate the central locking not knowing that the battery was flat, is this likely to mess up the sunroof/central locking/electric windows motors over a period of time? many thanks, Nicky Many thanks,

Hi all, just bought a lovely Corrado, after 3 days of getting her home in the garage the battery went totally flat, I mean it wouldn't even open the doors on the central locking. The car hasn't been used much so I recharged the old one and put it back in, and the same happened. The car has been stored for quite some time in a garage and left on trickle charge so I treated her to a new battery (heavy duty) thinking that was the end of the problem but the same has happened again within a week of non regular use. I have checked all interior lights are off and taken the head unit off the stereo (?) in case I had inadvertently left it on and the only thing I can think of is that the alarm is draining all the power but this seems excessive after just a few days in a garage. Just wondered if this is a common fault, any ideas would be gratefully received as the car is going in for a service tomorrow and I can get them to check the fault then but any suggestions would be really helpful. :lol: Many thanks, Nicky.

Hi all, having now picked up my beautiful VR6 I am looking to upgrade the original Sony cd player fitted in her from new. The car is totally original and I want her to stay that way, so no boom boxes or changers needed, I am looking for an up to date head unit that can be fitted without changing wiring looms (?) etc or adjusting the dash board. I don't mind what make it is and just looking for a cd/mp3 player that can support 50 watts per speaker. Any advice would be gratefully received as I am a real novice at this.
